There are two types of Polytechnic Colleges in Uttar Pradesh:

• Government Polytechnic Colleges
• Self Financed Polytechnic Colleges

Department of Technical Education maintains and operates the Govt Polytechnics in UP. DTE falls under the Government of UP. DTE Polytechnic Colleges charge less tution fee compared to Private Polytechnic Colleges in UP. So, a lot of students prefers to take admission in Govt Polytechnic Colleges over Self Financed colleges.
