As for now no formal notice has arised onto why the counselling is on hold.The released notice read:

This is for general information of all eligible candidates who have been called for l't counseling for selection and admission into l't year MBBS/BDS courses in the Medical & Dental Colleges of Assam vide this Directorate Notice vide No. DME/UG/llll20l9l 8378, dated: 22/06/2019, that the candidates need not to submit the OMR sheet of NEET (UG) 20lg at the time of counseting. The other terms and condition will remain same.
