The institute granted the status of "Institute of National Importance" to the Government of India.

• Fee structure: INR 5.4 Lakh ( Total fees)
• It is the latest IIIT College, which was founded in 2015, and this College is in PPP mode.
• The college had only one pass out of the batch with a strength of 30 students.
• The highest salary package offered was INR11.5 LPA and average salary package was offered was INR 3.5-4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are IBM, TCS, JIO, and many more.
• Students should have good command on programming languages.

The fee structure at IIIT Kottayam 2019 include tuition fee, mess fee, and hostel charges. There is no provision of tuition fee exemption on the basis of categories. However, students are offered several scholarships to the candidates on the basis of merit and other skill based criteria. The fees per year is around 1,50,000.
The fees is on higher side because of the quality of education which is very good in this college and as far as placements are concerned then it is also very good for CSE and all in all its a very good choice.
