Class 12 marks have no weightage in the preparation of JEE Main ranks. Students should know that the ranks will be determined based on the student's score in the entrance exam. However, for admission into IITs, NITs, CFTIs the score that candidates have secured in their class 12 board exam will be taken into account.

No, class 12 weightage is not added to prepare list for JEE Main. A merit list is prepared based on marks and percentile scored by the students in JEE Mains for admission to Engineering in NITs and IIITs. There is no such thing as scrapping class 12 marks. The marks you score in class 12 is to determine whether you are eligible to get admission in IIITs/NITs/IIITs. To get admission in these IITs/NITs/IIITs you must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized borad and you must have scored minimum 75% aggregate marks in class 12 and for SC/ST it is 65 marks. JEE Main will be conducted from September 1-6 as per the official announcement.
