you cannot get a seat in vit through state rank.

you have to give viteee exam for getting a seat in vit university 

they are not accepting even mains score also.

I think you can get into VIT with your state rank provided you have a really good state rank. I am not sure about the state rank that is eligible.But i would like to suggest you to contact the college admission cell who can provide you with better and exact details.
