No, placement opportunities will not be same for Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning when compared to Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology. These Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning are evolving domains it will take some time to get a wide range of exposure. Though the future depends on Artificial Intelligence currently it will take time to be recognized. Maybe after 10 years or so you can have equal placement opportunities as of now CSE and IT have more and stable preference. Pursuing Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning as a specialization - they have complete different value.
