NIOS is a recognized board like as CBSE, CISCE and other boards. NIOS students are eligible for government and private jobs. But some companies may prefer regular students over open students.

The National Institute of Open Schooling is just another educational board. For jobs, you will have to join a college and do your Graduation. Once that is done, your education board will not matter, only your marks will. So, you can definitely go for NIOS.
