You could try appearing for other entrance exams like VIT, SRM or even BITSAT. State entrance test prevelant in the state where you live. Except for BITSAT which asks for 75% in PCM, you are eligible for all the others where it is mostly 50%. Midterm colleges are a compromise and there will be no guarantee for the placements. My suggestion is no since you have 70% which is a good percentage.
