Candidates seeking admission in the Institute through WBJEE or JEE MAIN examination with valid rank and required marks in ‘10+2’ level or equivalent examination from any recognized Board / University are eligible to apply. In all B. Tech courses, 90% of students of approved intake capacity will be admitted on the basis of merit position secured by the candidate in the Joint Entrance Examination of the State (WBJEE). Students on the basis of merit position in JEE MAIN may also be admitted up to 10% of the total intake. Candidate should satisfy the stipulated standard of physical fitness with good mental and physical health.
B. Tech. (Lateral Entry):
Diploma holders in Engineering / Technology qualifying in the JELET exam (conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board) are eligible on the basis of merit position for admission in the 3rd semester (2nd year) of B. Tech. course. Candidate should satisfy the stipulated standard of physical fitness with good mental and physical health.
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship.(Any of the three) Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
OR
Passed min. 3 years Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme)
Lateral Entry
Passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. OR Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector. (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme)
