can somebody help me here ?? delhi university accepts CLAT or AILET and books for Ailet and CLAT .CAN I prepare for clat and AILET now ??

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 18th Mar, 2019

Hello.

Delhi University does not accept either of the two exams- CLAT or AILET. DU offers only a 3 year LLb course which can be pursued after completion of any graduation degree like BA, BCOM etc. If you're seeking admission in law directly after class 12th then you can't take admission in DU. CLAT, AILET etc are entrances for 5 year LLB which you can join directly after 12th class.

Here are some tips for preparation of CLAT which you can also use for AILET as both are similar.

The Syllabus of CLAT includes a total of 5 sections. Here is the section wise syllabus of CLAT-

1. General Knowledge and Current Affairs- 50 questions for 50

2. Legal Aptitude- 50 questions for 50 marks

3. English- including Comprehension questions 40 for 40 marks

4. Logical Reasoning- 40 questions for 40 marks

5. Elementary Mathematics-20 question for 20 marks.

In case you are looking for an all inclusive guide then the best one is- Universal's guide to CLAT and LLB. Other good guides for the same are- Arihant's guide for CLAT and Pearson's guide to CLAT. Here are some tips for preparation for each individual section of CLAT along with individual sources for each.

General Knowledge - The GK Section includes both Static GK as well as current affairs. For gstatic general knowledge you can refer to the Concised size Pearson or the Arihant’s guide. For current affairs, first of all develop a habit to read newspapers daily. The Hindu is the newspaper preferred by various CLAT Aspirants. It not only builds a strong base for General knowledge but will also help you in your verbal ability section. There is a site called GK today.in which you can go to for current affairs. They have daily quizes based on current affairs which has been proved very usefull for CLAT preparation.

English - In case you are looking for a separate book For Vocabulary you can refer the book Word Power Made Easy by Normal Lewis.  You will come across various words while reading the newspaper too, prepare a list, go through them regularly and try to use them in sentences. You should read the Editorial section of the Hindu for your Reading section as well as Vocabulary section of CLAT. For the reading section practicing your sample questions while timing it would prove usefull. For grammar you can use the Wren & Martin.

Mathematics - The weightage of the maths section is very less in CLAT. Also the syllabus included elementary level of Mathematics. Hence, if you purchase an all inclusive guide, then practicing for it would suffice.

Logical Reasoning - For Quantitative aptitude in case you are looking for a separate book then quantitative aptitude  by RS Aggarwal can be used. Other wise Universal's guide to CLAT or Arihant guide is also sufficient for CLAT. Make sure that you go through the previous year question too.

Legal Aptitude - Universal’s guide to CLAT and LLB, Pearson CLAT Guide are considered the best for this section. Fo through the basics of handling the questions of this section at first, and then utilise it to practice from these guides or any other source online, previous year papers etc.

Make sure that you go through the past year question papers and practice them along with sample papers. This will help you to have an idea about how to attempt the paper, the level of questions for each section, and how to manage your time well. If you are planning to take any coaching in institutes like Career launcher, Bulls eye etc then their reading material covers all aspects. You can refer the books listed above in case you need separate books for any or  the sections.

Best of luck!

how tough is pessat? what are the strategies required to crack it?

JAY VYAS 6th Feb, 2019

Firstly, don't be hard on yourself. You can take up Manipal exam again. And I suggest that you do. The highest score will be taken for ranking.About PESSAT, it changes every year.I suggest that you put your heart and soul into it, go though the all the topics mentioned by PES for PESSAT. It's better if you can read through all the topics in depth. We had an English section, too. If that's still exists, go though basic grammar. We had questions like 'What's the nearest meaning of ______?". Be prepared for the same.

Which is the best book for preparation of "JEE Advance" and also for Architecture "NATA Examination" ?

Debosmitha Bhattacharyya Student Expert 5th Feb, 2019

Hello Kishan,

Following are some of the best books for preparation of JEE Advance -

PHYSICS:

  • H.C. Verma: This book is the Bible for IIT JEE physics. You have to be thorough with each and every word of the theory in this book. Also, solve all the objective and short answer questions with diligence.
  • Cengage (by B.M Sharma): This book is excellent for both theory and problems. It will teach you many new concepts, which you will be able to appreciate after being thorough with Verma.
  • Purchase a very old edition of D. C. Pandey’s physics for IIT JEE. (the pre-2006 books containing only subjective problems). Solve this book.

CHEMISTRY

  • The official NCERT books are extremely important. Complete them from cover to cover.
  • For physical chemistry, refer to NCERT and Cengage for theory. Also, look at OP Tandon physical chemistry. Solve problems from Cengage.
  • For Inorganic chemistry, be extremely thorough with NCERT. After that, take a look at Cengage.
  • For organic chemistry, no book beats Morrison and Boyd. Read all the topics of the IIT JEE syllabus from here (after completing NCERT).

MATHEMATICS

The only key to master Mathematics is to practice a lot. Also, you need the ability to independently solve tricky problems.

  • “Problems Plus in IIT JEE Mathematics” by A Dasgupta and “A Course in Mathematics for IIT JEE” by Tata McGraw Hill ( the 4th edition of the year 2000) are very important.

Following are some of the best books for preparation of JEE NATA Examination -

PERIYA NAYAKI P 5th Feb, 2019

hi satish,

yes,you can start your gate preparation from this academic year. i know there'll be more labs/records/observation/academics from this year but you don't need to spend separate time for gate preparation.you've to learn each and every subjects with full involvement.solve and study concepts in daily-basis.from 3rd year, get the syllabus and previous question papers of gate.spend 2 or 3 hours daily to solve previous questions problems.if you dont have clarity on certain concept, then ask more doubts on classes.dont be shy or hesitate to ask question to your faculty.i think you'll write gate in your final year.so spend your first semester of final year for revision.please refer following articles,

I got 60 % in CAT 18 my academics is not good 10th 72 . 12th 72.6 graduation 54.6 should i take 3 tier bschool or prepare for CAT 19 ??

mdsameenabanu Student Expert 5th Feb, 2019

A low score or a dissatisfactory result does not always mean that the doors to your dream destination have closed. If your CAT percentile is in the range of 50 to 70 percentile, you must be wondering if there is any chance to get admission to a decent B-School. By now, you must have realised that admission chances at a top league B-School are out of the question. But that does not mean you have to bid farewell to your MBA dream which you have been pursuing since long and worked hard for.

Selecting the right B-School with CAT percentile of 60 can be a tricky affair. Although there is no dearth of B-schools whose CAT cutoffs range above 50 percentile, selecting the right one is the main area of concern. To guide you with MBA admission,  the list of B-schools with cutoffs ranging from 60 to 70 percentile or belo 60 Percentile

I score 95.12 percentile in jee mains..jan...n i m in 12th now..i have to prepare for boards...wht should i do? Prepare for boards or mains

Ram Mani Rai 5th Feb, 2019
Hello Ritika
Welcome to Careers360!
Based on your percentile Your rank would be around 40,000.
On basis of this rank You can not get admission in good NITs unless you fall into any catogary.
You can get admission in NITs which are ranked lower like Sikkim,AP...You can get admission in IIITs like Raipur, Ranchi,Una e.t.c.
You can get GFTIs easily.
Note: You will get NITs and IIITs in Spot round only.
If you are satisfied with these colleges then prepare for Boards. If you want more Then prepare for both.
Be clear that while preparing for Boards .You will learn Chemistry of Mains level. For maths R.D sharma ( NCERT First)will help you for Mains level And for physics Go through H.C verma ( If you have time)
By this way you will score good in Mains as well as Boards.
Keep it in mind that don't underestimate the boards as 75% is compulsory for JEE.
Hope It helps.
