Hello Priyanka

Maharashtra Common Entrance test (MHT CET) is conducted for admission to various courses offered by the colleges in Maharashtra.

MAHA CET MAH-MBA/MMS CET and MAHA CET MAH-MCA CET  exam both are to be conducted in March. Kindly mention that you want to appear for which exam so we can help you accordingly.

Generally, to prepare for the exam, you should know the detailed syllabus and pattern of the exam.
You should make your concepts clear to perform well in the exam. Practice as many questions as you can. You should also solve previous year question papers and mock test to know about the type of questions asked in the exam and difficulty level of the exam.
Exam will be conducted in online mode so you need to work on speed and accuracy both.

Also, try to make a study schedule for your preparation and devote time to every subject.
With proper plan and consistent efforts, you can clear the exam and get a seat in any good college.

Good Luck!

Please guide me regarding how-to-clear IPMAT, with or without coaching ?, After or before 12th boards ?

Nupur Sehji 9th Feb, 2019

Hi Surbhi

IPMAT is an aptitude entrance test  for integrated management programme conducted by IIM Indore. It is a computer mode based test conducted for a duration of 2 hours. The test emphasizes on mainly two important aspects, quantative ability which includes both multiple choice and short answer questions and verbal ability includes only multiple choice . No official syllabus is released by the institute. However on the basis on previous years examinations, one can roughly have an idea of the core topics that are covered in the examination pattern.

Now your query is regarding self preparation or coaching. If you analyse the syllabus pattern then you can easily deduce whether  or not your concepts are strong already or you need a fresh start.

Talking about the maths section, then topics from which questions are asked include:

Number System, Algebra, Set Theory, Data Interpretation, Geometry, Mensuration, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time, Speed, Distance, Time and Work.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE:

  • Start chapter wise and segregate the chapters that are your strentgh and the ones in which you are weak.
  • Maths is all about working logically and for that having strong command on your concepts is important. So avoid cramming the methods by which some particular set of questions are solved as in IPMAT tricky questions come up frequently.
  • Learn formulas for mensuration by heart and most importantly practice questions in order to learn the applicability of your concepts.
  • In case you you are not good in maths or find it difficult to recall everything, then don't rely on books only and take proper coaching because you will be able to practice papers only after you are conceptually strong.

RECOMMENDED BOOKS:

  • The Pearson guide to IIM Indore- IIPM entrance examination book (The book has been developed on the basis of last three years' examination pattern and the scope of Aptitude Tests as conducted by IIM Indore.)
  • Mathematics book by R.S. Aggarwal
  • Recommended CBSE books from std. 6th to 12th as it is important to have strong base in them
  • Any competitive exam book or management entrance exams books  can help you to as quantitative aptitude is the main subject in all of them.

Coming up next on Verbal ability section, questions from below mentioned topics are repeatedly asked:

Paragraph Completion, Reading Comprehension, Word Jumble, Word Usage,  Vocabulary and Analogy, Para Jumble, Fill in the Blanks and Grammar.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR VERBAL ABILITY AND RECOMMENDED BOOKS:

  • Practice as many Comprehension passages as possible.
  • Practice objective type questions from every topic thoroughly.
  • Read editorial columns in newspapers like The Hindu, Economics Time or The Statesman.
  • Improve vocabulary and writing by regularly reading magazines like Business & Management Chronicle by Chronicle Publications and Competition Success Review .
  • GK and Current Affairs questions have been lately coming up since many years. So keep a track of all the updates.
  • Norman Lewis ' Word Power made Easy 'is an excellent book to improve vocabulary.
  • Pearson guide to IPMAT.

IMPORTANT TIPS AND GUIDELINES:

  • Prepare time table and divide equal time to both subjects. Finish topics one by one and keep revising them so that you don't forget.
  • Set weekly/ Daily targets to finish your syllabus on time.
  • Not only in concepts, but if you feel your sitting and concentration is not strong then you must take proper coaching. If you are good enough in academics and can devote serious time at home on your preparation then self study is sufficient.
  • Solve a lot of papers from books and and track the time in which you are able to finish your exam as time management is very important.
  • Take as many mock tests after full preparation and analyse your strenghts and weaknessess.
  • Note your mistakes and make sure you don't repeat them because negative marking can drop your score.
  • In the final exam, you should leave out the questions where you have doubts to avoid the negative marks.
  • Calculators are not allowed ,so don't use them in your preparation too.
  • Take note that the difficulty level just rose to a high level (relatively) last year and it'll go on increasing so prepare well.

Good Luck!

Now I am starting my 2nd puc. What is the best preparation plan for jee mains and advances

Anurag Patel 2nd Feb, 2019

Hi student,

It is good to start preparing early for jee mains and advanced. It is one of the toughest entrance examinations and needs thorough preparation. Majority of the portion of JEE Mains and Advanced is based on class 11 and class 12 syllabus. So it is important to pay attention to class 11 and class 12 syllabus. So it is important that you stick to the syllabus and read the NCERT's of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics thoroughly. Let us take one subject at a time.

CHEMISTRY:NCERT for chemistry is very important as there are several times when JEE has asked direct questions from it. For organic, read all the reactions thoroughly, memorise the reagents and catalysts and clear your concepts regarding their use. The formulae in must be on your fingertips. The physical and inorganic portion must also be thoroughly read. After covering all the topics from NCERT and the reference books,  you must attempt questions from past 10-12 years of jee mains. Several books are available in market like Arihant, McGraw Hill, etc that provide solved previous year papers.
MATHEMATICS: Practice is the key to maths. Once you have covered the syllabus from NCERT, practice questions from books like R D Sharma or TMH Mathematics. Also refer SL loney and Hall& Knight. Honestly attempt the previous 10-12 year papers to enhance your understanding of concepts. Again, the formulae must be on your fingertips.
PHYSICS: Physics is a very conceptual subject. Don't try to mug up things without understanding, as this will be time consuming and not fruitful. Its better to read less but whatever you read is conceptually clear to you. Some of the important books apart from NCERT are H C Verma and Arihant DC Pandey. H C Verma is a must solve book for jee mains. Lastly solve the past years papers for the final touches to your preparation.
One of the most important thing in preparation is joining a full test series of any good coaching institute. It will also increase your problem solving speed which is on of the major rank deciding factors.

Full booklist for jee mains and advanced preparation are as follows:

Best books for JEE Main 2019 -Physics

H. C. Verma

Fundamentals of Physics

Halliday, Resnick and Walker

Problems in General Physics

Please provide details about every medical colleges with NEET PG crack rate

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 2nd Feb, 2019
Dear Dr. Rajinder, there are around 460 medical colleges across India that are recognised by the Medical Council of India. Around 65000 students study Medicine in these colleges. Quoting every college's data is not possible. However there is a link wherein you can check the colleges in terms of their ranking. The link is
https://medicine.careers360.com/colleges/ranking
And unlike Technology and Engineering stream, Medical courses dont have Placements and on campus recruitments.  Its just not these 64000 students who appear for NEET PG. There are students who have studied MBBS abroad, cleared FMGE and want to pursue PG in India. They dont fall in these 460 colleges. You cant categorise these students in any college. And when a student clears NEET PG, the Medical Colleges dont claim it to be their success because the candidates appear for NEET PG in their individual capacity and not on behalf of their college. And there are candidates who have appeared for NEET PG for the second or third time.  They cant be calculated in the college data. So unfortunately your question cannot be given a particular data.

Can i Crack NEET 2020 "(600+)" With Byjus" App without Any coaching classes..is it possible.???

Hitesh Modi 2nd Feb, 2019
No ,  that type of apps may not saficiant for neet...you have to get support of any coaching institute... Because classroom coaching is big part of entrance examination..... So my suggestion is that don't use any app for it..if u don't able to join coaching so u can read ncert... It's too saficiant for neet to get 600+...and your hard work must required for it because 600+ out of 720 its not easy to get... My best wishes with u ...good luck
