ruchika.chauhan Expert 8th Mar, 2019

Hello Ajay

To crack the exam, it is essential to start your preparation as early as possible.
To prepare for the exam, you should check the detailed syllabus and pattern of the exam and then make your preparation strategy accordingly.

Clearing the exam is not much easy but if you work hard and put in best of your efforts, you can score a good rank and get seat in your desired engineering branch.

Studying smartly is a key factor to score well in the exam.

I would recommend you to enroll for the VITEEE Knockout to prepare for the exam more effectively and smartly using the smart study material (which includes chapter wise, concepts wise, most asked and most difficult questions), Advanced Test Series based on VITEEE Pattern (which includes unlimited chapter wise test, subject wise test and full mock test), adaptive time table, performance analysis (which includes Prepmeter, Strength Sheet, Weakness Sheet, Skills Graph) and Rank Predictor tool.

How can I prepare for CLAT inorder to get 1 digit rank without joining any coaching institutes?

MITALI GULATI 18th Jan, 2019

Hi Nethan,

Firstly, the concept of coaching is misunderstood. The best who can guide you is yourself. First when you want to appear for CLAT 2020, you need to understand the entire pattern of the examination. Since you have 6 months more to start off your preparation, analyze the points were your weak and for which you require help.

The pattern of the exam is as follows:

1. Legal Aptitude-50 marks

2. General Awareness- 50 marks

3. Logical reasoning -40 marks

4. English - 40 marks

5. Elementary Mathematics- 20 marks

     Total - 200 marks

From the above pattern, two sections make half of the paper i.e. Legal aptitude & General awareness (including Current affairs & Static GK) comprises of 100 marks.

So, understand and try to strengthen these sections as much as possible.

Here are some startegy videos that I would recommend, as it has helped me in my preparation:

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG5i4ZmoN5E
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWfVQAn_ZKc
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oSlLR4Bc7A&t=17s
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13oU6cMmFME

These videos had helped me understand how I should prepare for the Examination and also gave a clear idea on what are the topics that are to be studied. So can see them as well.

These videos will first help you understand all the topics in depth and also help you plan for your upcoming preparation for 2020.

How I prepare for static gk for clat please suggest some interesting book because it is so boring

MITALI GULATI 18th Jan, 2019

Hi Vani,

Firstly, let us first understand the pattern of the GK section of CLAT examination. So out of 200 marks, Gk comprises of 50 marks.

GK comprises of both Static GK & Current Affairs.

To study so many topics and to remember them is really difficult and boring. So, I would personally suggest you to first list down the topics that come under Static GK and keep updating yourself with Current Affairs.

Static GK can be understood by understanding each topic and also by solving as many questions as possible. Do not try to memorize as you would eventually forget the facts and figure.

Static GK is a very broader section, so first try covering the Static GK on India.

1. Cover all the capitals, currencies, dance forms, important days, National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries, Sports, Important days(National),  and Indian Awards

2. Once, you have covered these topics solve questions based on them.

3. Then go to International section, cover International Awards, International Sports, World Heritage sites, Important days (International)

4. Simultaneously keep preparing for Current Affairs and keep solviing as many questions as possible because it also holds an equal amount of weightage in CLAT Examination.

Even though you have prepared for maximum of all the topics, you should solve as many questions as possible as it would help you improve your score and gain maximum marks from this section.

So, I would personally suggest you to start giving mock tests for this section and try remebering Static GK/Current Affiars on a daily basis, spent nearly 2-3 hours in a day, as it will not burden you and simultaneously you can prepare for other subjects as well.

I have personally given weekly mock tests and it has helped me improve my score, there are also certain youtube videos that give daily Current Affairs questions.

I am providing with some links as it helped me in my preparation.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQKi42qYiALcS3s4wJhkLCw

There is a channel they daily come with videos on Current Affairs, so you can see it. Also, they provide weekly mocks test series for GK so you can register yourself and try the mock tests, as it helped me improve my score.

Finally, I am again stressing on solve as many questions as possible because questions help you improve your score and help you understand your weaker areas.

Im preparing for CAT exam. My question is can I crack bank PO exam with CAT coaching?

Veeralkumar Thakur 27th Apr, 2019
Hi,

You might have heard that CAT is one of the most difficult examinations to crack and is listed with exams like UPSC for it's difficulty level, well it's TRUE. The exam truly tests the endurance, focus and accuracy of the candidate within a comparatively less time period.

Many people who appear for CAT and crack it in the first go with the right amount of Hardwork, focus and dedication.

If you are not familiar about the pattern of CAT, it consists of Vocabulary (English, RCs section), Quant (Mathematics section) and DI & LR ( Graphs, Pictures and reasoning section).

CAT which is a race against time and packed with negative marking scheme.

So there is this link which can help you with detailed CAT prep and so will many other CAT coaching classes, https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cat-when-and-how-start-preparations/amp&ved=2ahUKEwjE8M7_vOrhAhWK63MBHYiEDzoQFjATegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw3wpWyn9MB0MhMz31UyIRQD&ampcf=1

The real tricks lay beyond the syllabus and that's what you need to master. Its about ability to crack examinations instead of cracking the syllabus.

Best books would CAT books by Arun Sharma, Coaching Institute Material and Test Series, RS Agrawal for DI-LR.

And yes sure you can Bank exams like SBIPO etc with knowledge of CAT, only you might have to brush up on your General Knowledge (GK) for great results.

All the Best!!
