Sir i am 3rd year student or engineering (CE) ,i want to prepare for gate exam plz gide me , how to start

manisha.gupta 4th Jan, 2019

If you are in the third year of your Grduation then It will be easy to prepare GATE as you are familiar with the Engineering concepts and it will help you to understand new concepts to prepare the exam.

Here are some preparation tips for GATE preparation you can prefer.

Understand syllabus properly: You must be aware about the GATE syllabus, released by the organizing IIT. You must go through the section-wise and topic-wise syllabus of your chosen branch in order to know what all you have to study and what to avoid.

Solve previous year papers: Solving previous years papers is of utmost importance if you want to excel in the exam.

Weightage of Topics: it is advisable and important to study the complete GATE Syllabus, however, you can do a small exercise to gauge which sections, topics are much more important in terms of weightage given in GATE.

Resources other than books: It is good to look up topper and expert tips in this regard as they do mention the books or material they have referred to. Many GATE toppers run their own Facebook pages or blogs where they dispense advice and tips to wannabe GATE aspirants.

Remember the following points:

Divide the Topics broadly into Strong, Weak and to be read properly.

Next schedule your preparation such that you revise the easy ones along with the tough ones and the “never read before” ones. This will ensure you have a clear view of what is to be studied and how you are going to do it.

While many advise to check the weightage and study accordingly, it is really not the correct way to go.

Check the weightage by all means and understand the important topics but don’t neglect to study.

Make Short Notes while you study as this is will be helpful during revision.

Write down Formulae that you find difficult to remember so that they are handy for revision.

Keep the solved problems separately indexed so that you can refresh and revise later when required.

Analyse your preparation at every step.

Is rd sharma enough for WBJEE maths preparation?

Heena Gagwani 3rd Jan, 2019

Mathematics by R.D Sharma is a very good book to prepare from.

You can also refer other books for Mathematics. Is it enough or not? Well how much ever mathematics practiced is less. Mathematics is very vast field and the more question you solve the more knowledge you will get and the more knowledge you get it's advantageous for you only.

  • Other Mathematics books which can be referred are :-  Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight, Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A Maron , Co-ordinate Geometry by S.L Loney, Trigonometry by S.L Loney.

Make notes of mathematics,  solve as many sums as you can. Also make separate notes of formulas. Before exam the formulas from these notes can be revised.

Also highlight the sums which are tricky and revise them. Solve past year papers of the entrance exams because it will help you to know what types of question come in exam.

Give mock tests and note where are silly mistakes happening so that you can avoid it in the entrance exam.

Also pay heed to the time. The more faster you solve the questions the more time you will get for the difficult ones.

If you still have any queries feel free to ask in the comment section down below.

Which are the best books for NEET preparation to get a minimum marks of 600 .I will the exam in 2020

Dr.Debtanu Banerjee 3rd Jan, 2019
This according to me would be a good guideline for an ideal preparation to NEET 2020
  • preparation could be home based in the form of referring to standard textbooks and making your own notes along with giving regular MCQ mock examinations as well as institution based wherein you attend the classes of institutions like Aakash or Allen regularly and gain indepth knowledge, as a teacher takes you forward with the different chapters along with the subject based regular tests organised by them, which will help you with your regular performance analysis
  • For physics you could Ideally follow a book like Arihant or SL Arora since it will give you a diverse concept in important chapters of mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics and modern physics which will not only help you with your circuit diagrams associated problems containing resistance, inductance and capacitance circuits but will also help you with your complex algebric numericals based on current electricity and mechanics associated problems.
  • physics is a science of numericals mainly and the formulae are  to be remembered and applied, so I would recommend you make a copy containing most of the important formulae and their prototype uses in different numericals and practice them regularly to enhance your chances of doing the numericals in a fool proof manner in your examination
  • chemistry in medical terminology is more of an organic chemistry based subject so you need to have indepth knowledge in the chapters of carbonyl compounds and reaction mechanism which can be obtained from books like OP Agarwal and OP tandon
  • These books in addition also give you good knowledge about the physical chemistry chapters of moles and equivalent, atomic structure, chemical kinetics and chemical energetics which are also chapters famous for being questioned upon in NEET
  • for metallurgy and inorganic chemistry p block elements and heavy metals always play an important role and are chapters which cannot be missed for neet
  • In biology it is all about studying things in a sequential tabular manner and going through the facts regularly since regular revision is the only key to scoring maximum marks in biology
  • The chapters of biomolecules, animal physiology microbiology, biotechnology and genetics are most important since they are being questioned upon heavily in the recent years and you need to study them in a systematic organised manner using tables, flow charts and diagrams and not blindly by heartening the textual materials
  • to talk of a study plan depending upon your capability try to dedicate 6 to 8 hours of study time everyday where you can start the day with biology in a fresh mind and spend 3 to 4 hours in the morning on it before lunch following which you can take a small break of about an hour to relax yourself and start off with a couple of hours of physics thereafter and after practicing the numericals give yourself another short break of about an hour or two and end your day with around 3 hours of chemistry
  • Keep yourself healthy by eating and sleeping well and keep yourself mentally stress free since tension hinders performance levels and renders you are unable to answer stuff which you should be able to deliver easily in the examination hall
  • Never forget that practice makes you perfect so keep giving as many mock examinations as possible in the MCQ mode on a time bound manner and mark yourself or let some institution taking the examination mark you and rank you so that you have a good idea about where you stand amidst the state and national forum, and also can strengthen your skills and build up on your weaknesses in that manner
  • That according to me is the best plan layout for scoring 600 plus in NEET and getting into a college of your choice since it will not only help you with your question selection and time management skills but will also give you a profound base for the subject you are going to study in future in your medical career
Hope this helps, thank you

Which book should I prefer to prepare for IP MAT?

Niharika Moturu 3rd Jan, 2019

Hello Anisha..

Thanks for contacting Careers360.

One of the best books to prepare for IPMAT is ‘Crack the IIM Indore IPM Entrance Exam’, published by Pearson and written by IIM Lucknow Alumnus Nishit Sinha.

Along with this, you should also practice last year papers by setting the same time limit as it's going to happen in the final exam this will help you to prepare a proper strategy to give your maximum in the paper and also you will be able to recognise your strength and weakness.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries.

All the best!!

Suppose someone know concepts and way to solve the problem regarding maths, how such guys prepare themselves last few days prior to jee exam

harsh Student Expert 3rd Jan, 2019
Try to find out your weak concepts and weak part .
And practice it.
One thing knowing concepts and methods to solving it is different from that when you actually solve it.
Sometimes we got puzzle in calculation and in time.
So it is main thing that you should prepare your mind and patience which will be improved only by practice some good questions .
If you practice alot and are prepared try to read theory    and do some hard questions.( Only if you are Fully prepared).
So good luck
