You can follow the below given points to crack GATE exam preparation:
Understand syllabus properly: You must be aware about the GATE syllabus, released by the organizing IIT. You must go through the section-wise and topic-wise syllabus of your chosen branch in order to know what all you have to study and what to avoid.
Solve previous year papers: Solving previous years papers is of utmost importance if you want to excel in the exam.
Weightage of Topics: it is advisable and important to study the complete GATE Syllabus, however, you can do a small exercise to gauge which sections, topics are much more important in terms of weightage given in GATE.
Resources other than books: It is good to look up topper and expert tips in this regard as they do mention the books or material they have referred to. Many GATE toppers run their own Facebook pages or blogs where they dispense advice and tips to wannabe GATE aspirants.
Remember the following points:
Divide the Topics broadly into Strong, Weak and to be read properly.
Next schedule your preparation such that you revise the easy ones along with the tough ones and the “never read before” ones. This will ensure you have a clear view of what is to be studied and how you are going to do it.
While many advise to check the weightage and study accordingly, it is really not the correct way to go.
Check the weightage by all means and understand the important topics but don’t neglect to study.
Make Short Notes while you study as this is will be helpful during revision.
Write down Formulae that you find difficult to remember so that they are handy for revision.
Keep the solved problems separately indexed so that you can refresh and revise later when required.
Analyse your preparation at every step.
Hi Syed Abu.
The syllaus for both JEE and KCET is same - 11th and 12th. So, for clearing these exams, you have to be thorough with the important topics in PCM. For that, you can refer different books or there are some apps in play store, some of which are paid, that can be of real help. These apps will include the study materials, questions, mock tests etc. in one place. There will be good free apps but premium apps are usualy better than free ones. So, go for one of these. And, in either way, work hard and smart.
Good Luck.

All the best !
Hi Aditya.
Your question reminded me of the similar kinds of problems and dilemmas I faced a few months back, during my preparation days. My academics are almost like yours, which proved quite advantageous, as I managed to get calls from good institutes even on a decent, not so great CAT percentile. My diversity factor (academic and gender) helped me as well.
Apart from all these advantages, I was not able to convert the best calls I had. The reason being my shy and introvert nature, lack of any practical experience (internship or job), and a relatively low general awareness about diverse topics (topics apart from my core subjects).
Almost the same situation as yours, right? I am not telling you all this to demotivate you, but to warn you to not make the same mistakes that I did. I left it all up until the very last moment. I thought it's better to concentrate on CAT first, and on the subsequent stages. But trust me, I couldn't be more sorry for what I did. You need to start working on these things as early as possible, because these aren't things that you can develop overnight by reading a couple of articles and watching a few youtube tutorials. It's a continuous process. The earlier you start, the better you will be.
Carry on with your CAT preparation. But, maybe in your spare time, try to read an article or watch a TEDx video or anything that might prove helpful some day. Connect to people on social platforms like quora and talk to them, try to get their perspective on things, get to know how they manage to interact confidently with strangers and how they tackle tricky situations. Dedicate half an hour daily for things like these, and you'll surely see an improvement.
All the best for your journey ahead!

I would suggest you to go through well with NCERT books properly because it will help you to build your concept. Here are some important tips you can follow for the preparation of NEET. Know about the exam very well. Like the eligibility, syllabus etc. This will help you get an idea of the important concepts so you can aim your preparation for NEET accordingly. Very important to do is- Create a study table and make it in slots with a short break in between Set your routine in a way that you target the difficult ones first and then go to the ones you can handle well. Prepare well, master with basics, keep revising. Make notes of important formulae and equations while studying. Once through with a chapter or concept, attempt the sample questions based on it. Since the exam will be devoid of any direct questions, it is important to give an honest attempt to learning and understanding the content. Keep giving online/offline mocks.
