Shiv Kumar Gupta 24th Jul, 2018
Hello akash,
To preparing for GATE, you have to join any coaching institute for that like MADE EASY, IES MASTER etc.
Made Easy is the best coaching for GATE.
you have to work hard for that.
If you scored good marks in GATE like 75+ out of 100, then you can go for PSUs or IITs and NITs college for M.TECH.
Thank you.

i want gate 2019 electrical syllabus and how to crack the exam

manisha.gupta 31st Jul, 2018

You can check the syllabus for Electrical Engineering with the given below link.

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/gate-syllabus

Here are some preparation tips for GATE preparation you can prefer.

Understand syllabus properly: You must be aware about the GATE syllabus, released by the organizing IIT. You must go through the section-wise and topic-wise syllabus of your chosen branch in order to know what all you have to study and what to avoid.

Solve previous year papers: Solving previous years papers is of utmost importance if you want to excel in the exam.

Weightage of Topics: it is advisable and important to study the complete GATE Syllabus, however, you can do a small exercise to gauge which sections, topics are much more important in terms of weightage given in GATE.

Resources other than books: It is good to look up topper and expert tips in this regard as they do mention the books or material they have referred to. Many GATE toppers run their own Facebook pages or blogs where they dispense advice and tips to wannabe GATE aspirants.

Remember the following points:

Divide the Topics broadly into Strong, Weak and to be read properly.

Next schedule your preparation such that you revise the easy ones along with the tough ones and the “never read before” ones. This will ensure you have a clear view of what is to be studied and how you are going to do it.

While many advise to check the weightage and study accordingly, it is really not the correct way to go.

Check the weightage by all means and understand the important topics but don’t neglect to study.

Make Short Notes while you study as this is will be helpful during revision.

Write down Formulae that you find difficult to remember so that they are handy for revision.

Keep the solved problems separately indexed so that you can refresh and revise later when required.

Analyse your preparation at every step.

Good Luck!

Hi. I have completed my 12th this year with 95.75%. I didnt write any entrance exams. So Can I study a year for JEE or NEET & other entrance

Anirudh Shivam 23rd Jul, 2018

Yes you can.

I think you prefer to take coaching , as it will create the

  1. Competitive environment
  2. Keep on self motivating
  3. Analysis your progress

In case of self study, these factors may not be completely gain.

What to do:-

  1. Get or Purchase proper study material of all 3 subjects ( a book must contain theory as well problems) along with previous year papers.
  2. Start with Basics and clear your Basics concept with the help of NCERT or other CBSE boards
  3. Clarify your Doubts if any with help of faculties rather than books (as it bit time consuming)
  4. Practice more and more, don’t read theory all the time.

You can refer various higher level books for each subject.

Physics - After solving NCERT you should go for HC Verma and Rassnick Halliday for Higher understanding of Subject, then you should attempt last year papers and Mock test.

Chemistry - For chemistry you should go for NCERT and only NCERT, for Question practice you can refer Other Books

  • Numerical Chemistry by P.Bahadur or N Avasthi
  • Organic Chemistry by M S Chouhan(Question Practice)
  • Inorganic you should refer NCERT and NCERT Exampler.

Maths - After NCERT and NCERT Exampler and then you can refre book by Cengage Publications.

Go through it .It will help you

will bsc statistics help me in the preparation of cat??

Sreetama Datta 23rd Jul, 2018

Hi Akanksha! Yes definitely! Since you've done your graduation in Stats, you must be good with numbers, number crunching, speed calculation etc. Utilise these skills for the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning sections. Refer to the past years' questions and take few mock tests to understand the pattern and question types. Brush up the areas in which you are weak, which can be best done with regular practice. Apart from QA and DI & LR, the other section is Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. For that, you have to prepare separately. CAT is basically an aptitude test and not a test of knowledge. So, it is the right time to gauge and utilise the aptitude you've gathered over the years. All the best!
