Visit this link to know more about the topic wise analysis of jee main .

  1. Put on a consistent effort from your part throughout the period of preparation. Don't slacken your efforts for any reason.
  2. Be sure to concentrate on all three subjects. It doesn't matter if you like a subject a more or hate one. If you like a subject, be sure that its your strong spot and don't loose any marks there. If you hate one, be sure to concentrate your efforts there so that it doesn't turn out to be your weak spot.
  3. Make sure that you understand all your concepts clearly. If not please do approach your faculties, because this isn't a school exam where you can by heart something and write it down on the exam. All the questions in JEE are out of the box , sometimes involving multiple concepts and unless your concepts are strong , I would say that your chances are pretty low ib solving that.
  4. Another important aspect to keep in mind. Being strong in your concepts will do nothing to help you, if it isn't accompanied by solving various problems. An usual JEE preparing student on an average solves around 50000 questions during his/her preparation.
  5. The final point for the preparation is that forget all other distractions. If you have a smartphone, laptop , television or a pc nearby please make sure that you are not distracted by them. I am sure those temptations are pretty hard to control, but you have to do something about it if you are looking for a good rank in JEE. Also, do not ignore your physical health.

Now the above said are from the preparation point of view. Going on to the exam point of view…….

  • The first and foremost point you have to keep in your mind is the time limit. Every one can solve all the questions given sufficient time, but the challenge comes when you have to do so in the given 3 hours.
    • The exam is for three hours, but don't let it fool you into thinking that each subject is 1 hour. The question paper is always set in such a way that chemistry paper can be completed in 35 - 40 mins. This because you will need this extra time in Maths and Physics.
  • Solve all the questions you know are easy first. Then after solving them , go through the question paper and spot the moderate level questions and solve them. Finally spend the rest of your time in the difficult ones. This will ensure that you won't leave off any question you know.
  • Do not be tensed during the exam for any reason. If you do not know a question, leave it and try it after some time. The chances are high that you will have a better chance at solving it after some time.
  • Another good thing you can thank for is the MCQ type questions . Once you see a question, do not go into solving it immediately. Look at the options. Chances are you may be able to find the answer through sheer elimination process.

Prashant Chaudhary 13th Jul, 2018

hii bikash,

SL loney is not a basic book. it covers topics even beyond JEE syllabus. it can be considered best book for co-ordinate geometry. You should prefer this only and leave topics which are not in syllabus.

I have completed BCOM with accounts specialisation and very good at my academics.

Tanushree Seth 14th Jul, 2018

Hello Rahul,

One thing you must remember is to take up only that stream which seems interesting to you. After all this is the time you have to decide what you are going to do all over your life. So just go for what you want yourself to become.

If you want a 9-5 job in an MNC then MBA is for you.

If you want to become an IAS then UPSC is for you.

Be wise and choose what you enjoy doing.
