I am 2nd year civil engineering student.should I join to foundation course for GATE or I should prepare for my semester examination ?

zubin916 11th Jul, 2018
You should currently prepare for semester exams an dstart preparation for GaTe in Third Year that is 5th semester onwards so that you have 2years preparatiin time.

You can have enough time for mock examas and revision thereafter.

You need to do balancing act as you also need good score in engineering which will come handy in PSU recruitment.

im currently in 10+2 and want to appear in jee mains exams ..but i want a gap of 1 year for preparation ,,is it good?

Yashkirat 11th Jul, 2018
It is not. Currently I think you must be studying for Boards. So my answer is accordingly.

First of all I want to make one thing clear i.e. syllabus of JEE Mains is not much different from boards apart from the fact that you have study class 11 topics also for Mains. So if you are clear in concepts of boards and are doing well there you can get around 150-200 depending upon level. At this rank you can get some NIT/IIIT. So will you like to waste one more year??
Dear majority if students who are studying for boards are in buble that JEE Mains is a rocket Science and you need to study some different concepts to clear it. But the problem is here only i.e. your belief. You must know that Mains is a logical paper but not a paper where only craming can work. E.g. I secured 88% in boards but I managed to score 164 marks in Mains.

You just need to have sort of practice of JEE type questions and if you and whatever you study should on some logics and if you are deep enough in Chemistry in gurantee you that you can secure around 100 marks only by studying NCERT properly.

You should not think of dropping and from this year you people will be having two attempts for a single year s9 yiu can improve in a span of 2 months.
Think for drop only if you were not able score good marks in Mains and till then remove this thought completely from your mind.

Yes u can take the gap for preparing there is no problem in that, from 2019 you don't have to wait 1 year for the jee main exam as it will be held twice a year.

Can i prepare for jee after 12th or i should start with 11th ? Is it gonna be ok if i start preparing for it after 12th?

Shivam Gautam 10th Jul, 2018
Hii Shashwat

Yaah you may prepare after 12th but based upon the class 12th prepration you can't be able to score good marks in MAINS and if you want to take the admission in elite government institute like NIT'S  / GFTI / IIIT then you should start prepration from Class 11th onwards.

Good luck

Solve Marrow QBank - better than any MCQ book. Very crisp and to the point - and only high yield questions. As the user above suggested, do solve MCQs in digital mode Tham reading from a book - because you’ll be taking the exam on a computer.
