How to prepare for PGCET exam?

vikashkr894_9303636 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2019

PGCET Karnataka is a relatively easy exam compared to Gate or other entrance exams by Private Universities like Manipal Entrance Test. But don't take it lightly. Old question papers are much significant here than in any other test. Might be MBA or MArch, ME or MTech the funda remains the same. Dig through old q papers, find the way of asking questions, get your own Fundamentals of the Topic notes, devote some time for solving 1mark interview questions and there you go. You will find yourself in top shelves of PGCET rankings.

PGCET has a different approach than most of the other competitive examinations. It seems easy in the beginning but has its own tedious things which become tiresome over time. So without taking it lightly just focus as I have said in my answer. Devote 5–6 hours a day for study and 3hrs at least to solve different interview questions which you will find in sites like Indiabix and you will thank me after the results. :)

Hope this helps. And All the very best.

From which books we should prepare for JEE mains and advance from standard 9th onwards, which books you would recommend sir?

Saloni 19th Jun, 2019

Hi Paril,

Since you are planning to start this early in Class 9, Sheer practice and determination can take you a long way in acquiring that talent and beating those aspirants who are gifted but don’t do their share of hard work.

If you want to prepare for competitive exams then prepare for NTSE and various Olympiads. this tremendously helped me to understand the competition around myself. Solving mental ability questions which were a must for NTSE exam really helped me a lot to tackle questions/ develop a solid problem-solving approach which is required to crack a competition Like IIT JEE or NEET/AIIMS.

Moreover, right now if you want to initiate your JEE preparation then understand the basics of your chapters well as you are going to study advanced version of these chapters in 11 and 12.

Physics: Start with HC Verma. Then go ahead with IIT JEE Questions directly. Also other books from Arihant and GRB are good .. However if u have time left after doing previous years, you can solve Irodov.

Chemistry: NCERT most important. Other than that, for reference, use OP Tandon. Other books from GRB and Arihant are also good! Do mole concept and stoichiometry as that is very important for JEE purpose.

Maths: Start with NCERT and then complete RD SHARMA. You will find it very useful for school as well as JEE purpose. Advanced Problems in JEE (Balaji) and then previous year questions from Arihant 39 years can be helpful in future.

Do let us know if you have any questions or concerns in the comment section below !!
Hope it helps !!
All the best !

I want to go for IIST, is there a way after mht cet to persue for IIST? If yes, then what will be the process, eligibility & preparation ?

Shubham Kumar Gupta 29th Jul, 2019

Hello aspirant,

If you have taken admission in any college and want to pursue  IIST for under graduation, then you would need to take a dropout.

The selection in B.Tech and Dual (B.Tech. + M.S./M.Tech.) will be done through the score obtained in JEE Advanced and counseling.

So you need to prepare for JEE Advanced in order to get admission in IIST.

Best of luck.

how we can start preparation of gate exam???

harshita_1558773432 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2019

Hey

GATE is not an exam where you have to mug up every possible thing. It is a technical exam, having knowledge of few tricks and tips to solve the questions easily and also saving time is necessary. Joining a coaching center is not the only option available to crack the exam,Go through syllabus and exam pattern before start preparing for the exam.Knowing the syllabus will also help in determining the weightage of each topic for the preparation of GATE.

There is no single book that is sufficient for the studies. However, 2 or 3 books are sufficient, depending on the subject so go for it.A full daily plan of the scheduled studying hoursmust be made to know how much to cover daily.

Solve practice papers and previous years’ question papers ,GATE Practice Papers will help you identify the important topics and their weightage for that particular paper.

Avoid distractions, there are some common distractions such as relationships, family problems, mobile games and social media websites that aspirants face while preparing for the exams.Hydrate yourself to stay healthy and fresh.

Make the revision catchy. The revision process is a must otherwise preparation is just incomplete without revising the topics.

The weaker sections must be focused by in a measured way. When preparing, a specific time must be given to the weaker sections.

Give a proper time management to this and work hard so it gets easy for you to achieve your target.

All the best
