i hage compelted my bsc in computer science (2018) if i do my correspondence or distance learning from mathematics or physics am i eligible for navy or armed forces??

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 30th Dec, 2019

Hello,

The eligibility criteria to get into NAVY or army:-

  1. Must have qualified +2 from a recognized college and must have one major subject from Chemistry/biology/computer science.
  2. age limit must be 16-20  years
  3. PFT as per the rules
  4. Medical standards as per the norm

You have to satisfy all the rules then only you will get into army. If you are not satisfying any one then you are not allowed into any kind of army or navy forces.

if you satisfy all and join army then yes you can do distance education. you will follow the process needed to get an admission into distance education and learn in your time at your convenient place.

Hope it helps!

Neha Tiwari 1st Jan, 2020

Hello there,

As a commerce student you can apply for NDA, if you have maths then good but if not you'll be eligible to only apply for army and not navy and Air force.

However, you'll have to clear the mathematics exam even if you did not have maths in 12th.

level of exam is generally till 12th std. Maths and remains same for all regardless if what stream they come from.

Hope this helps.

For NEET 2020 i have selected shillong centre also but i belongs from Assam state...shillong is too short distance to us as compared with silchar.May it cause any problem?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 28th Dec, 2019

Jyothi, you can select upto 4 convenient exam centres to fill in the NEET application form. And these exam centres once selected cannot be changed. It is not quite clear whether you can change the exam city preferences during the correction window. The exam centres are allotted on first cum first serve basis. And they cannot be changed once allotted as the exam centres are system allotted without human intervention. And you can select any Centre of your choice for your exam. If Shilong is closer to you and you are allotted Shillong as the exam centre, you can attend the exam without any issues.

I am thinking of pursuing MBA from anna university via TANCET in a distance education track (correspondence) But I am worried that it may affect my career

Harshita Gupta 3rd Feb, 2020
Hey,

See, there are a number of merits and demerits of distanct MBA. Now, this field is evolving rapidly due to Technology, but yet, the recruiters are not much familiar with distant learning students. You MBA degree will definitely be considered to be valid for any job, but in reality, the pay scale is a little less for a distant learning candidate than the regular ones. This is usually because you may not have the market exposure as a correspondence student. You won't get any campus placement. You will have to find a job for yourself.
But, if you are working in the same field as your MBA specialisation, then it is definately an added advantage as you will have degree plus experience from the same field. This is one of the advantage here. You can do MBA and earn together.

As a distant student, your syllabus will be different from that of a regular student. It will be more theoritical and nothing practical. So, if you are someone who is working and just looking forward to gain another degree, then you can go for distant learning. Otherwise, a regular MBA is more helpful.

Hope this helps!
