Your question is quite simple, the answer to your problem can be obtained by using the formula,

E*2*pi*d*epsilon=lambda

where epsilon is the permitivitty of free space, and lambda is the linear charge density.

Substitute the values, as given in the question,

E=9*10^4 N/C

pi=3.14

epsilon=9 × 10 9

t=thickness of slab

μ =Refractive index of slab

F=10/2=5

Due to glass plate shift

s=t

(1-1/ μ )

=1.5

(1-2/3)

=0.5

New u=9.5cm

Using lens formula

1/v=1/f+1/u

1/v=1/5+1/-9.5

1/v=4.5/9.5*5

v=10.55cm

Yes, you can do your higher education through distance mode also. Because many universities and institutions provide post graduate degree in engineering field through distance mode. So fulfill the eligibility criteria required by the institution

i have scored 58.5 percentile in CAT and 90.5 percentile in MAT, in 10th i got 9.6 cgpa equivalent to 91%, in 12th i got 91% from commerce, and in graduation i have 69.6%, please guide me to the right path, should i prefer distance mba or regular and which institutes would be good for that?

Hi Pradip,

You have a good academic record in 10th and 12th. But it is not enough to get into IIM for MBA course. To get into top IIM you need to have a percentile above 99.5+. And to get other IIM , you need to have a CAT percentile
