i am very confused about my studies.. which of these have best scope in future ? 1.bds+Mds 2.bsc anesthesia + msc.+ phd in anesthesia please clearify my doubt

dishtiv 11th Dec, 2021
Hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well.

See these both are very different courses and different subjects.

In BDS+ MDS you are studying about dentistry and in Msc Anesthesiology you are studying about anesthesia and related things.
If you want to add a Doctor in your name early then you should go with Bds.
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 5-years undergraduate program. .The 5-year program involves 4 years of classroom education and 1 year of compulsory rotating internship.
And after bds you have to do Mds, it is of 2 -3 years in India. So overall it takes 7 years.

Bsc Anesthesiology is 3 year course, then Msc also 2-3 year then PHd is also a long course.
So you can see both are long duration courses

But if we talk about scope, then definitely it better for anesthesiologist as In India there is saturation of dentist . And government is also not opening new dental colleges. There are very few job vaccancies too

If you choose Bds as your career option here are some tools which will help you:

Which college should I choose for MD Anesthesia b/w KIMS Bangalore or MS Ramaiah? Which is better in terms of Patient inflow and academics.

Karishma Sawhney 16th Jan, 2022

Hello,

Both the colleges are renowned for their academics and discipline. The patient flow of MS Ramaih is around 1736 daily whereas for KIMS Bangalore, it is around 1500. MS Ramaih also has a NIRF ranking of 37 in 2021 and 27 in 2020. Considering the faculty it boasts, patient flow and infrastructure, MS Ramaih would be a better option.

after b voc ott with anesthesia what should be our profession name is it we are doctor

Naresh Kumar 30th Nov, 2021

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can't use Doctor as a prefix after doing B.VOC with anesthesia.

Prefix DR. is only given to people who have completed their MBBS with a recognized college or P.HD in a particular field.  You can't use Dr as a professional name if you have completed other science courses.

For example, a person having M.sc. psychology degree can't use Dr. as his/her professional name.

Thanks!
