No, not necessarily. Nowadays a lot of game designing is done thru software, so it would help more if you knew animation and coding. An aesthetic sense will always help, though.
Moreover, there are other functions in game design apart from set design. You could create storyboard/music too, requiring no painting skills.

Yes you can be a good game developer . That would require good knowledge of maths logics and coding rather than integration and derivation.

If you do not have maths in class 12th then you can opt in for BSc or BA Animation as it does not require maths to be a compulsory subject for you in class 11 and 12.The entrance exams for the same does not require maths as well as it is basically about drawing/sketching.
