If you get only 60 marks in NEET, then you cannot get admission in BHMS. Because to qualify NEET, general category students need at least 144 marks. Even private BHMS colleges need more than 200 marks.
With an All India Rank of 6,34,169, getting a BHMS seat under the state quota is possible but difficult in most states, especially for General/OBC categories.
However, if you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/EWS) and apply in states with lower cutoffs or less competition, you may have a chance in later rounds.
Hello,
Holding an All India Rank of 2,71,334 in NEET 2025 and classified under the General (Unreserved) category, your likelihood of obtaining a BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) seat in a government institution is quite limited, as government homeopathy colleges typically set higher cut-offs, particularly for unreserved category applicants. Nonetheless, cut-off trends may change annually due to the exam's difficulty, the number of candidates, and the seat availability. Thus, it is strongly advised that you engage in the counselling procedure, both the All India AYUSH counselling organized by AACCC and your specific state-level AYUSH counselling. By doing so, you can investigate all options, including private or semi-government BHMS colleges, which often have lower cut-offs. Engaging in counselling maintains your alternatives, and you may encounter available positions in subsequent rounds for which you might qualify.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hi Ayush,
We understand your concern, as NEET is a very competitive exam you need at least 550 or more to get admission into a decent MBBS college not a top tier college as it would require 650 to 700 marks in NEET.
Now, it is good as you are keeping BDS/ BAMS or BHMS as backup option and then reappearing for NEET exam next year. But, be sure that you can simultaneously prepare for NEET while studying BAMS.
If you strongly feel to pursue for MBBS then you may even take a complete year drop with good preparation for 2026 NEET exam but if you want to minimize the risk, it is better to opt for BAMS/ BDS and then trying your luck again in 2026 exam. ALL THE BEST !
Hi Pranali,
The score of 201 is low for government BHMS colleges and chances of getting admission there are quite slim. If you are very passionate about the Homeopathy course then you may opt for any private institution with considerably low score acceptance but you also need to know that the fees of private institutions are on higher side as compared to the government colleges.
If you can not afford the fees then you also have the option of year drop to prepare for your next NEET exam with good scores if that's viable for you.
Hi Shruti,
The score of 75 in NEET exam is significantly low for BHMS course of Homeopathy. It is very difficult to get a government college or even a private college with low fees.
You should check our official NEET college predictor for best available colleges that align with your marks: NEET All India College Predictor 2025 - Medical/Dental/Ayush/Nursing
If you still can not find any medical college, you may take a year drop to prepare better and get good marks to get a good college.
GOOD LUCK !
Hi Diya,
NEET exam is the standard exam for BHMS course and there are very limited colleges that may offer you the admission without the NEET exam. You can specifically check them at our official website:

But still keep in mind that NEET exam is crucial for medical studies.
With 221 NEET 2025 marks, you have fair chances of getting admission in a private BHMS college near Hospet, Karnataka. Private colleges may offer seats under management quota with moderate fees. Total fees could range between rs. 1.5 to rs. 2.5 lakhs/year.
With 160 matks in NEET 2025, chances for government BHMS seat are very low in general category for SC/ST/OBC a few government homeopathic college may consider it in states with lower cutoffs most government BHMS college close above 350+marks you may try private colleges or deemed universities with this score state quota improves chances slightly
