Bio-medical engineering
Hello aspirant,
If you want to pursue B.,tech Courses in Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering, then make sure that you have mathematics either as optional or compulsory subjects. Otherwise, if you wish to go into the biology fields, and if you have pursue Biology in your class 12th, then you should give NEET and get admission in MBBS/BDS or any other medical fields, which will be best for you.
Further, I would like to tell you that, if you want to go for B.tech courses in Biology fields, then both of two above mentioned courses is better as both of them has the advancements of their own. Basically, if you have interest in medicine, then Biomedical Engineering may be a better choice, whereas if you have are more interested in biology and microbiology, in such a cases biotechnology may be a better option for you.
B.Tech in Biotechnology :
After BTech, you can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs, and institutions in India. However, you may go abroad to pursue your masters or doctorate studies in Biotechnology and allied fields. You can also shift to MBA and enter the world of business, finance, and banking. Also, you can shift to software through on-campus placements. Talking about on-campus placements, since the number of job openings is very less in Biotechnology, the number of companies coming for placements will be very less. Also, core companies only hire students from universities such as IITs, NITs etc.
B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering :
Here also, you can go for higher studies in India or in abroad. But here you will get more exposure to top companies like

I hope that this will help.
Hello student!
B.Tech in Biotechnology and B.Tech in Biomedical engineering are the professional four years undergraduate degree. If you are interested in working in the fields like healthcare, agriculture, industrial enzymes and drugs etc. you should go for B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering . On the other hand if you want to work in fields like healthcare, environment, pollution control which require knowledge of DNA, tissues, virus and other microorganisms you should go for B.Tech in Biotechnology .
The starting salary after B.Tech in Biomedical engineering is around 2.4 lakh to 3.6 lakh per annum which can go up to 7.2 lakh to 9.6 lakhs per annum whereas if you are graduated in B.Tech in Biotechnology you may get a starting salary of around 3.6 lakhs to 4.8 lakhs per annum which may go up to 9.6 lakhs to 13.2 lakhs per annum based on experience.

Hi,
Well, biotechnology students are selected on the basis of JEE exams in NITs and IITs and there is no way a PCB student can get into NITs or IITs for B.Tech in biotechnology. But if you wish to be a part of IIT or NIT, you can write GATE (BT) exam after B. Tech to pursue your M.Tech from IIT or NIT. But yes, there are some NITs and IITs which demand mathematics in your senior secondary classes even after qualifying GATE with good score. So, here you can have a drawback as you will not be eligible for these colleges. This results in shrinking of college options for a PCB student.
IIT's require Mathematics as a compulsory/optional subject at senior secondary level along with Biology as an eligibility criteria for B.Tech Biotechnology.
But If you really want to go for IIT then you can apply for mathematics as an optional subject through CBSE whose form will be available in the month of September in some syndicate's bank branch or at CBSE office.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Generally, Biomedical Engineering course requires PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) but there is one entrance exam which I know whose questions are based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology and by clearing this entrance exam, you can pursue Biomedical Engineering course (Bioinformatics with CSE to be specific). The entrance exam which I am talking about is VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination), clearing which you can pursue Bioinformatics with CSE course from Vellore Institute of Technology.
If you want to know more about VITEEE 2022, you may visit the link - VITEEE 2022 - Exam Dates (Out), Registration (Started), Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern (careers360.com)

Hello erum,
As far as your rank is concerned you would easily get biomedical engineering in SRM University Chennai . The cut off of this branch generally goes upto 40k and above. Every year the dynamics gets changed as the number of seats are increased and the cut offs are also lowered.
Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
To get complete information you can check out the link given below-
