how to calculate kcet ranking along including board exam marks

Vaishak V Prabhu 1st Aug, 2020

KCET rank will be calculated by considering the performances in KCET and QE (qualifying examination) as well.I will explain with an example ,let us assume that u have scored 131/180 in KCET and 288/300 in QE,then your % marks in KCET is 72.77% and in QE it is 96% now they will add this two( that is, the formula goes like this

Rank will be given

R={(%KCET+%QE)/200}×100

Then they will sort ,who has got more R(i have taken this ‘R’ for better understanding) value will get good rank.

And the rank to a particular ‘R’ value varies every year

What should be the qualifying marks in 12th board exam to be eligible to appear in JEE mains 2022

S. Saha Student Expert 1st Aug, 2020
There is no percentage barrier to be eligible for Jee Main. The basic eligibility critdtia is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects [along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational] from a recognized board. For admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, a general and OBC candidate need to have at least 75% marks in the qualifying examination or be in top 20 percentile of the respective board. And it is 65% for students belonging to SC, ST or Pwd categories. For B.Arch, candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. For B.arch, candidates should have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and Only compulsory subject for B.Plan is Mathematics. Now Jee Main 2022 is so far that we can't predict it. The exam conducting authority may change the eligibility criteria depending on the situation then, like they did this year. http://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-eligibility-criteria/amp

Hello aspirant,

Your KCET rank depends uppn the following the factors-
  • Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in KCET.
  • Marks obtained by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in board exams.

So, based on your marks your rank will be in between 3000 to 4000 and these are the best colleges you can get according to your rank-
  • PES University (PESU)-B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology-B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering
  • The National Institute of Engineering-B.E. in Information Science and Engineering
  • BMS College of Engineering-B.E. in Telecommunication Engineering

As for 11th you don't have to worry. The unacademy plus will surely help you.

In 12th board exam 2021 20 percent internal marks will be added or not?

Firdouse 29th Jul, 2020

Hello

There is no internal marking as happed in class 12th CBSE.

You have your theory paper and practicals (which are taken by some external examiner who visits your school).

From 2019–20 CBSE introduced internal marking for some subjects like english and maths but there are some rumours that this could be changed for 2020–21 batch and these internal marks will also be given by some external examiner who'll visit your school to take the practical. But you've to wait for the CBSEs official syllabus and statement which is likely to be released in may (not confirmed due to covid-19).

Hope it helps you

Thank you
