The eligibility for government exams in India depends on the specific exam you are interested in. Some government exams, particularly those for clerical positions, might require you to have passed all subjects in your 12th standard exams. Many government exams, especially those for PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) banks, income tax departments, and other commerce-related fields, might have a minimum eligibility requirement only for specific commerce stream subjects like Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies. If some exams require passing all subjects, you might need to consider appearing for a compartment exam in Applied Mathematics to improve your chances of eligibility. If the exams you are targeting focus on commerce stream subjects, having a "Failed" or "RT" (Re-appear Test) in Applied Mathematics might not necessarily affect your eligibility as long as you've passed your core commerce subjects (Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies) with the minimum required marks. I hope it helps!
No, having a commerce stream with Maths and IT disqualifies you for the Flying Officer role (pilot) in the Indian Air Force (IAF) through AFCAT (exam for IAF officers).
To be a pilot, IAF requires Physics and Maths at the 10+2 level [AFCAT eligibility].
However, your commerce background with IT can be a great fit for Ground Duty (non-technical) branches in IAF through AFCAT. You can consider roles in administration, logistics or accounts.
hope this helps you!!

Unfortunately, it's impossible to say how many staff are specifically dedicated to the commerce stream at a college without contacting the college directly. Staff numbers can fluctuate and there might be faculty who teach across streams.
However, most colleges offering commerce programs will have professors specializing in accounting, economics, business studies, and other commerce-related subjects.
Regarding honours subjects, yes, many colleges do offer honours programs in commerce. These programs allow for deeper specialization within a specific area of commerce, like accounting, finance, or marketing. You'd need to check with the specific college you're interested in to see if they offer honours programs and what specializations are available.
Hello aspirant,
The beauty of English hons is that it accepts students from every field, be it Science or Commerce. I myself was a Science student till my 12th grade and now I'm pursuing my Master's in English and was the Gold Medalist in my BA English Hons batch. This is partially the reason why English is a compulsory subject in every stream, i.e Science ,Commerce or Arts. So it's not that they only accept students from Arts backgrounds only. Some colleges even accept students from different backgrounds in their MA English Programs. I knew a girl who had done BSc triple major in botany, zoology and chemistry and she went ahead and pursued MA in English after that.
Talking about the job opportunities, they are endless- Research scholar, asst professor, content writer, content editor, proofreader, copyeditor, Public Relations, etc

Keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list, and there is a significant amount of overlap between these categories. For instance, environmental science combines aspects of natural sciences and social sciences.
