Hi,
No, not at all. It is not like that . This year also JEE Mains and JEE Advanced were conducted amid COVID 19 for admission into NITs or GIFTs. The counselling process for various NITs will also start after some days. So, you can appear for the exam next year if you really want to get admission into NITs or IITs. But as cut offs may vary year to year so you should try for it definitely with fortunate luck you may get it. The link for cut offs of last years is given below.

Hi there!
Depends on IIIT or GFTI ..some of them are pretty bad… some of them are worth .
HBTU is losing reputation and placement opportunities day by day. Faculy is not that good and also wont be a wise choice as IIITs have better infrastructure and course curriculum and faculty and also you get the NIT tag which help years from now.
Now there are some IIITs that are not worth joining like kalyani, sri city, kottayam etc and also they have higher fees than HBTU so if your financial condition is not good…go for HBTU.
Hello Aspirant,
According to the rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs/IIITs/good GFTIs as per previous year's cut-offs but I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks. You can also try in some private colleges or lower GFTIs which are mentioned in the link given below :-
https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/low-jee-main-rank-check-which-colleges-you-can-get/amp
Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.
So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!
