Btech genetic engineering ,btech biomedical engineering ,btech bioinformatics which has scope in future

Harsha Sinha 11th Oct, 2020

Hi there,

Currently all these three sections of engineering has not a decent scope in India, although bthere are many laboratories where gentical research are being carried out and many genetic engineers are there, but the salary is not that good at initial level, if you have masters degree as well then you might get a good salary still there are no such good opportunities in the current scenario for anybof the above mentioned branches.

The main reason is the only few college like

  • Sharda university
  • B. S. Abdur rahman university
  • BIHER

Provides these branches there are no IITs or NITs offering it,

Hence I would suggest that if you can patiently work with this then might be after 10 years the scenario change.i hope this help

does genetic engineering rule the world

Hello,

Thanks for connecting to Careers360

Genetic Engineering is basically involving the group of techniques that cuts up and joins together genetical material, especially DNA from a different biological species and introducing the resulting hybrid DNA into an organism in order to form new combinations of heritable materials.

To become an genetic engineer, one should hold bachelor's degree in science. With specialisation in biophysics or biochemistry or molecular biology or genetics, one can do masters or M.tech or MSc in anyone of the subjects mentioned above.

Genetic Engineering mainly focuses on biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology,evolutionary biology and medical biology

The techniques of genetic engineering is used in

* Research Agriculture

* Industrial Biotechnology

* Medicine

Scope of Genetic Engineering are:

* Graduates can work both in private and public sectors

* With the growth of Biotech firms in India as well as in foreign countries, Genetic Engineering graduates are required for both government and private organizations.

* Therefore the scope in Genetic Engineering in future is great.

* Graduates can opt teaching as their career too, as many colleges are introducing course of Genetic Engineering .

work field we deals with genetic engineering

theeanonymous 6th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant ,

Genetic engineering is a field of study where the genetic code of an organism is altered or manipulated  to produce a desired trait . The insertion of gene into the host DNA is done using biotechnology. It is a 4 years course but if you want to reach a good position you need to do advance studies.  This field is useful in research, agriculture, medicine and biotechnology  After getting a PhD you may go as a core researcher or scientist or teach in a good university. With bachelors or masters you can be research or lab assistants. You may join in the research and development team of any biotech or pharma company after MSc or MTech is the same.

pls explain the difference between bsc genetics & btech genetic engineering and which is best for future

Disha 5th Oct, 2020

As Bsc is pure science based....Bsc (genetics) involves the study of the pure  genetics and not the techniques used int hat...Bsc (genetics) is of theee years ..

B.tech in egnetics is consits of three types.

. Microinjection of DNA into nucleus of anchor cells.

. ELectroporation in which DNA is introduced through cell memebrane pires by pulsed electrical charge

. Polycationic neutration of cells membrane and DNA to be introduced to improve possive uptakes .

So,Btech in genetics is more better than Bsc genetics as in btech you will get the theoritical and practical knowledge...and in Bsc  in genetics will give only theoretical knowlede..
