Hey Aspirant,
GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery is 3 year course followed by 6 months of mandatory internship dealing with the nursing practice of a niche segment like maternity care, post-trauma, rehabilitation, meant care, data collection, etc.
The course fees are between INR 20,000 to INR 60,000 in Government Colleges and between INR 2,00,000 to INR 4,00,000 in private colleges.

The admission process for General Nursing and Midwifery shall begin tentatively in October 2022. The whole procedure shall be completely online.
Kindly note that the admission shall be granted entirely on the basis of merit, and no entrance tests will be conducted.
However, the authorities have a complete right to reject incomplete applications or applications with irrelevant documents. So, ensure that your form is totally error free.
During the selection process, there will be a certain hierarchical order of preferences will be followed:
1.Candidates who have passed class 12th with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) in their qualifying exams.
2. Candidates registered as ANM with the State Nurses Registration Council.
3.10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
4.Candidates who have passed class 12th with Arts.
5.Candidates who qualified 10+2 Arts or Science Examination or Healthcare Science Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.

GNM Course are still not included in NEET exam. Only BSC nursing admission is taking place in some college's although not all from last year.
There are still many entrance exam is conducted for admission in BSC nursing in different colleges.
GNM Course admission is still based on there own entrance exam or on the basis of 12th.
You can check about the same from the college that through which entrance or on what basis they are taking admission.
But for time being now GNM Course are not included in NEET UG entrance medical exam.

According to the latest guidelines, the admission for GNM Haryana would be purely based on merit. There won't be any entrance examination for it. Your 10+2 score would be the deciding criterion.
Although candidates from all streams are free to apply, however the candidates who have passed 12th with science stream would be preferred.

No, ANM is not necessary for doing GNM .
You can apply for admission in government colleges for GNM in Haryana. . Admission portal likely to open in October. Admission is purely merit based which is conducted by Department of Medical Education and research, Haryana. Candidates with 10+2 with science stream are preferred over arts students.
Eligibility for Haryana
10+2 with minimum 40% with English from any recognised board. Students other than science stream are also eligible.
GNM is diploma level 3.5 yr course with 6 months of compulsory internship. There is no national level exam instead each state conduct its own exam. Also top universities like BHU, AIIMS has its own exam.

There are a host of colleges across the country to pursue this stream. However the admission for GNM has already begun and some of the states even concluded the process with the fast filling up of seats. West Bengal GNM has closed the admission after evaluation of the state level entrance test, conducted on 11th of June, 2022. CMC Ludhiana GNM was ongoing till 8th of Aug, 2022. Punjab GNM put a bar on applications on 11th Aug followed by Kerala GNM on 17th Aug. The colleges to begin with the process are:-
1. Chattisgarh GNM : First week of October.
2. Haryana GNM : First Week of November.
3. IOCL BSc Nursing and GNM : Ongoing.
4. Karnataka GNM : Ongoing
5. Odisha GNM : First week of September.

If you finished your 12th grade in a non-science stream, ANM is your only option for a nursing career. Following completion of the ANM program and registration as a nurse, a candidate can pursue a GNM course, which will qualify him/her for a BSc (N) Post Basic program.
