Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
Hello,
GATE is one of the toughest examinations in India. As you are in 6th semester, you still have 1 more year to appear for GATE. You can appear for GATE when you will be pursuing 8th semester.
First of all check all the GATE previous papers. Observe how the questions are asked. The questions test your conceptual knowledge. Take out the list of subjects and best books to refer. Prepare the subjects only from the reference books and study thoroughly. Don't try to skip any topic and don't prepare as per your university syllabus only. Prepare each and every subject in deep and clear all the concepts and doubts if any by referring your lecturers or anyone having thorough knowledge about the field.
All the questions from the GATE are based on your engineering syllabus and for attempting that, you will have to gain the knowledge in deep, there are no shortcuts. Start from today only, focus on studies and give your 100% towards the preparation.
The qualification rate of GATE is only 16%, which is very less. Just study thoroughly and ambitiously for the exam and you will surely crack the exam. Just remember, study, revision and practice are the only ways which will help you to crack the exam.
Hoping for your positive results.
Best Wishes.
You can check the MOCK Test result only after the completion of your exam. You have to go to the official site of GATE examination, from where you are able to give mock test of your branch. After the completion of your exam, you will able to check result.
Hello Aspirant.
If you want to know about the Exam day Guideline for GATE Entrance Exam, You can check given below.
It is advisable to give a quick reading of the question paper so you can gauge how to crack it. Use the “View All Questions Button” for a quick reading. This will allow you to decide and plan the sequence of the sections you need to attempt.
Next, start the exam by clicking on the section you wish to attempt. Most toppers suggest to start with the subject section as the GA and Engineering Maths sections are easy and scoring ones.
Answer those questions that you know the answers to so that you build a score as you go. This will build your confidence before you move to the hard ones.
A very important tip is to remember to save each answer before you move to the next ones else they will be lost and you won’t have time to redo them.
Another tip is to note the question numbers that you know but need a bit of time on the scribble pad. This will help you get faster to them when you are ready to answer them.
Answer all the questions that you know the answers to and are pretty sure of. Don't waste time on questions that you are not sure of or don’t know the answers to
After answering the questions you know the answers to, move to the ones that you kept for later and start answering them
Remember that numerical questions require a degree of precision so keep that in mind and calculate carefully. Silly mistakes are common when you are in a hurry.
Don’t waste a lot of time on any problem. Time is of essence so attempt wisely and well.
Since there is negative marking, avoid answering questions you don’t know the answers to so you don’t lose precious marks on a fluke.
Plan and answer such that you have a bit of time to check your answers towards the end of the exam.

HELLO ASPIRANT Congratulations for your result and qualifying JEE mains.since it is very difficult to predict the exact rank but we do have a backup> we have a formula to calculate the expected rank that is (100 – Total percentile) x 869010/100.So according to formula your expected rank for present percentile for January session comes out to be 104281. Now the expected rank might change depending on the no of candidates appearing the april session. For ex if 12 lakh candidate appear the april session then just replace 869010 by 12 lakhs. But if you score above 85 percentile then you have a very decent chance of qualifying jee mains.
Now since the official cutoffs fro college are yet to be decided but let us analyse your chances by looking into the previous year cutoffs data well CS branches are very demanding these days but with your present percentile getting CS branch in TOP nITS is little difficult but you may get some good college through State counselling.
No worries since you have an april attempt left and most importantly baap of the exams i,e Advance which may directkly lead you into IIIts.
But if you are curious to know that which college you might land into with your percentile then you can use the college predictor link which has following features;

Hope you find it helpful.
For GATE Mathematics, you can solve the Arihant GATE Mathematics, GATE Mathematics by RK Kanodia and GATE Mathematics by Made Easy publication.
You can use HK Das for covering the basics and BS Grewal and Erwin Kreyszig for Advanced Engineering Mathematics. Hope it helps.
