Indian Institute of Technology
Hello aspirant! Based on NIRF rankings, IIT Delhi is ranked second and is far better and world-widely known when compared with Netaji Subhash University, which is ranked 76. Getting a seat in IIT Delhi is a great opportunity that it's not that pleasant to reject it. IIT Delhi offers highly efficient research and work labs for academic purposes. The faculties are highly experienced in their respective fields, and are one of top professors of the nation. NSUT also provides good facility and is a renowned university in Delhi, but IIT Delhi weighs more.
Which course is difficult depends on an individual's perspective. A person who is interested in dealing with Machine language and software, would feel CS to be easy while a person who is interested in automated production and problem solving, would feel Electrical Engineering in Power and Automation to be easy. Syllabus-wise Electrical Engineering in Power and Automation is vast but not difficult.
Getting a more paying job not only depends on the institution but also on your overall academic performance and skills. In both sectors, a highly talented and well efficient graduate with good communication, leadership and creative thinking skills is paid enormously.
Taking placement into account, CS graduates are in high demand as of now . The annual salary for a CS student who passed out from NSUT ranges from 4 lakhs to 1.25 crores per annum (as of 2019).
For a long career , you can opt for Electrical Engineering in Power and Automation and it is one of the rarest courses in India. IIT Delhi has top placements of over 85.6% students placed in about 450 companies(over 950 offers) in 2019-2020 with an average package of 16 lakhs per annum and highest of 1 crore per annum. In 2019, graduates were placed more in core jobs when compared to software jobs.
Putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, I would consider Electrical Engineering in Power and Automation at IIT Delhi as more valuable, but the choice is yours.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
Hello. IIT Hyderabad holds a great reputation in regards to its teaching methods, infrastructure, quality of professors and placement.
The question arises is which stream is better, Electrical or CSE. The best ans to this is which more ignites you as per your interest, for what you are passionate about, that's the path you must choose.
As per my considerations, CSE holds a bright future in every field. The placement stat in IIT Hyderabad for CSE is quite high and enriching. You can see very big companies such as Infosys, TCS, Amazon picking bright students. So, everything just depends on your choice.
No branch is comparable as far as you pick what you are most interested in.
Hope that helps!
Hello aspirant,
You should choose the course you are passionate about rather taking based upon college.
At this point, you should follow your heart!
If you are a programme enthusiast, take CSE at MNIT.
Else, if you can believe in yourself that you can change your branch after first year and want to be a part of the IIT tag, then you can take KGP Ocean engineering. Although this stream also has some of its advantages which you will have to search for.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Hello,
Mathematics and Computing is a very interesting and upcoming course which is a sweet mixture of coding, DSA, finance and Linear algebra.
Excellent placement(comparable to CSE slightly inferior): I believe that currently finance firms and banks haven't tapped into the latent potential of this branch. Placement avenues might grow when banking firms start recruiting from here. The SDE placements of maths and computing are good too but SDE firms usually see it as a second alternative to hiring a CSE student. But with good internship and good CGPA, a 20L+ package isn't a tough nut to crack.
Good masters opportunities(better than cse): For a student planning to go for masters abroad this branch is a dream branch. Not only are your chances for getting into masters better than other branches. A student can modify his resume by doing internships and taking electives and potentially open up a masters admit in CSE, data science, finance and mathematics.
Hope this helps you.
Best of luck!
According to what I know and informations I have gathered, Mathematics and Computing in IIT Guwahati is a good choice especially for people who are very enthusiastic about computer science. It's not a dull branch. Many of their courses are same as that of CS Dept. Unlike CSE it is extremely maths intensive and also has a Computer Science depth in its syllabus. The maths in the beginning of the course adds to the breadth of your mathematical knowledge while later the maths is confined to statistics and finance. The course has an overall low syllabus flexibility but becomes flexible enough in the last two semisters. The job opportunities are also decent for the branch. Most of the companies that open for CS are open for M&C too.
If you hate finance it's hell for you: Owing to the inflexibility of the current syllabus dropping finance courses out is impossible and the courses are quite a struggle for the disinterested.
Hey Aspirant,
If you want to do B.tech from IIT then you can get into IIT through the exam of JEE ADVANCE (after clearing JEE mains).
If you want to do M.TECH from IIT then you have to give GATE exam after you graduation(giving exam does not you will get in iit, you have to get required rank for particular iit,to get into it).
There are many other several courses..(those are mentioned below)
IITs are the autonomous Engineering and Management institutes, which are among the top Institutes of India and admission to these Institutes is one of the most difficult tasks for every student.
Getting admitted to IITs is every student’s dream. But, for admission in IITs, one must clear an entrance exam.
→What if you could not get into IIT through JEE?
Well, there are many other ways to get into IITs for other courses like , M.Tech., MA in Humanities, PhD etc.
In this article, candidates get to know which are the best entrance exams for admission in IITs.
Below is the list of entrance exams through which a candidate can study at IITs without clearing JEE:
→JAM 2021
→GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
→UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design)
→CEED(Common Entrance Exam for Design)
→HSEE (Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam)
→CAT (Common Admission Test)
→Short Term Courses in IITs
So, let’s go through the details for each of the entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology:
IIT JAM (Joint Admission test for Masters) – Admission in IITs without JEE
There are many brilliant students who apply for JEE ADVANCED exam. Sometimes due to lack of guidance & preparation, candidates miss the opportunity to get admission in IITs.
If you are a . student & you want one more chance to get into IITs without taking JEE…
IIT JAM can slake your thirst.
JAM Exam is conducted for admission in IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee and other IITs to pursue MSc (Four Semesters), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-MTech, MSc-PhD Dual Degree and other courses.
IIT JAM is conducted in six subjects:
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Mathematical Statistics
Biotechnology
Geology
Candidates can appear in the exam for maximum two subjects. But both the subjects must not conflict in the same exam session.
IIT JAM Exam is conducted every year in the month of February.
Hope thos will help you.

By assuming that by better you mean a high paying package, you must go for electrical or electronics in Guwahati over chemical in Bombay.
Chemical in Bombay in terms of placements will not be at par with electronics and electrical at Guwahati. As the placement of electronics is at par with CSE.
The level of difficulty in JEE exam paper varies from one IIT to other IIT and from year to year. Yes, the question paper is set by different IITs each year but you can't assume the level of difficulty from IIT Kharagpur or any other IIT. So please, don't assume such thing rather you should go through the concepts properly and prepare and clear your doubts. See, if you don't prepare properly, whoever IIT set up the question it will always feel difficult and if you have prepared accordingly, you won't feel difficult.
Hope, this answer helped you. Good Luck!
Hello aspirant
Congratulations on achieving a very good rank I JEE Advanced 2020. But you have not mentioned your category, so I'm assuming it as a general category. Yes, you can get few good colleges with this rank, but to know about your seat in IIT or any other colleges, then you can check out the below given link:
