I am in class 10 of WBBSE. My results are going to come out within 1 month and I want to join ISRO and Become and Aerospace engineer. Should I change by board after 10 from WBBSE to CBSE. And what should I do after 12th to achieve my goal.

Akash Singh 2nd Jul, 2021

Dear student,

Changing the board of examination is completely your choice, it has nothing to do with becoming aerospace engineer in ISRO, but before getting admission you must know that you should do your 11th and 12th with Physics, chemistry and Mathematics, these subjects should be there in your examination.

Now, let me tell me what is the way to join ISRO and become aerospace engineer.

After completing your 12th, you have to get admitted in the course of Aerospace engineering in any recognized institutes, obviously getting admitted in top institutes will be better and more valued. AME CET is a national level entrance exam, by performing well in it, you can get top institutes.

After you complete this course, you will get degree of Aerospace Engineering Degree recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India.

After this, you will have apply for an entrance examination called ICRB which is conducted by ISRO for graduates, based on your score in this you will get post in aerospace engineering department.

I hope this clears your doubts.

You can check more about aerospace engineering by going through the link below.

Which type of programming Languages used in ISRO / NASA to design the Satellite

susanna.maryb 30th Jun, 2021

Hello Abdul,

The programming language used by NASA is HAL/S ( high order assembly language / shuttle). It is a realtime aerospace programming language compiler and cross compiler used for aviation technology. For ground operations c, c++, java and python are used.

ISRO uses python for their satellite based operations and remote sensing. In addition to this Java C, C++ etc are also widely used among ISRO programmers/engineers.

ISRO mostly recruits Engineers from the field of :

  • Mechanical Engineering (AEROSPACE ENGINEERING included)
  • Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Architecture

The vacancies usually go for BE/BTech and some need MTech.

Now as you are interested in Physics then you have to ways:

  • Go for 4 years BSC Physics program and then you can get admission in IIST MSc Astrophysics and Astronomy. If you >8.0 GPA then you get directly recruited in it.
  • Another way is you go for BSc and MSc or BSc+MSc course which will take 5 years. Then you can go for MTech courses in IIST which can also land you a job in ISRO.
  • Some times ISRO releases MSc Physics recruitment notification but you have to visit the ISRO site regularly and check it. Its not regular.

If you want to for Physics then also BARC is a great option for Physics MSc graduates. The work profile and salary are also great. So don't worry and pursue your passion.

I want to admission in ISRO after my Btech engineering course. Please tell me which Btech course is the best for me.

Purbayan Chatterjee 7th Aug, 2021

Hello,

To become a scientist at ISRO, you are required to have Maths and Physics at your +2 level. Then getting admission in IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) can be the easiest ticket to get absorbed in ISRO as a scientist/engineer.

However, if you study engineering from any other college, you can still be recruited in ISRO via their recruitment process that they conduct every year.

Now, to answer your second question, i.e. B.Tech Courses that will be best suited for you given the fact you want to be absorbed in ISRO.

Well... Every year, ISRO opens its vacancies for graduates from a variety of branches such as:

  • Computer Science Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Architecture

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate should have graduated in any mentioned streams with first class/distinction with the percentage of at least 65%.

Hope that helps.

hi, Im studying garde 10 i aspire to become a ISRO engineer so what are all the basic degrees i need to get and which College is best for it do i need to write JEE /IIT exams for it !!? Im open to suggestions .....

apoorvakomuravelly 27th Jun, 2021
Hi,
As you are in 10th try to make a grip over maths and physics. You may require a B.trch or any other degrees to write the ISRO exam. Usually, the management of ISRO is very cautious about the degree percentage and it should be above 65. If you study in a better college like in IITs and NITs you could be good in the technical field also. Many IITs like IIT Chennai, IIT Mumbai. Try to get a good score in IIT and crack the best college.
ISRO has its exam in technical-based which you can apply after your graduation.
All the best.
