ISRO
Dear Student,
Some of the best colleges in India to pursue aerospace engineering are:
Hey Aspirant!
For getting into ISRO, you have to clear the examination conducted by ICRB(ISRO centralized recruitment board) for the post of scientist/engineer ‘SC'(MECHANICAL).
From past 2 years, ICRB is conducting exam twice in a year, one is during April and second in December. Please check website'ISRO Careers’ for further information. The notifications for the exam generally get out in the month of January/February for the exam in the month of April and in September/October for exam in December.
Phase 1: Written examination consists of 80 questions for 240 marks, each question carry 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. It's a 2 hour exam. Those students qualify this phase will be called for interview. Generally number of Candidates called for interview depends on number of vacancies. For every vacancy, they call almost 8 candidates. (Ex: 40 vacancies, then they will call around 320 candidates for interview).
Phase 2: Personal interview is of around 20–30 minutes. They generally ask you about your favorite subjects (at least 4).The interview is fully technical and illustrative. You are asked to explain things on board. (With a black marker and white board). Questions are not too difficult to answer, if you have prepared well, you can answer 60–70 % questions.
All the Best
There are various levels at which you can join ISRO and at various designations.
After 12th: You can get into IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) for their Undergraduate programmes. The admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. Which means you need to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. You can pick any of their 4 year Bachelor programmes like B.Tech in Physical Sciences, B.Tech in Avionics and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, etc. Or you can also pick up their 5 year Integrated courses in Master of Science in Astronomy and AstroPhysics, Master of Technology in Earth System Science, Master of Science in Solid State Physics and Master of Science in Optical Engineering, etc.
Opportunities are amazing for academically brilliant candidates. With a CGPA of 7.5 or higher, subject to the availability of vacancies, you get placed in ISRO. Aero and Avio graduates have better prospects even outside ISRO.
After B.Tech: IIST also offers Postgraduate Programmes like:
M.Tech in Soft Computing & Machine Learning M.Tech in RF & Microwave Engineering M.Tech in Geo informatics M.Tech in Optical Engineering M.Tech in Machine Learning & Computing M.Tech in Solid State Technology M.Tech in VLSI & Microsystems M.Tech in Materials Science & Technology, etc.
Opportunities depend upon ISRO Placements conducted by centralised recruitment committee.
Chances are there but relatively less as compare to other branches such as Computer Science or Electronics. You can write the entrance exam conducted by ISRO itself or you can write GATE exam as well.
You can get both technical and research job as per ISRO website. Under career page there are notices about recruitment of Scientists/Engineers including Civil branch.
There are many ISRO facilities in India & all have Civil Maintenance Department (CMD) which looks after Civil related work in ISRO facilities. But as Civil doesn't falls in mainstream of ISRO so opportunities for new construction and design is less.
All the best!!
But as a Graduate you can join as a Technical Assistant if you have graduated in Physics. Or you can pursue Masters either in Physics/Chemistry or Mathematics. The options for Graduates other than Engineers are relatively lesser. But the chances are bright after 12th.
Hello Aspirant,
To get a job in ISRO, you will need to appear in the entrance exam conducted by them. You will have to wait for the job post by the organization. They are usually released in feb-march.
But do keep in mind, this is not a rule which ISRO followed every year. The details regarding admission and procedure will be mentioned on the job ad.
It has few eligibilites, these might help you analyze better about your path to a job in ISRO.
1.should have completed either diploma or b.tech
2.more than 60% in b.tech(different for reservation candidates)
3.should be indian citizen
4.age should be between 21 to 30 years.
5.candidates in final year b.Tech can also apply(only if they can produce degree certificate at time of interview)
6.GATE score is also given huge importance.
This may help.
Happy learning!

All the best.
Hope you must be satisfied with the response.
Thanks

good luck!
But if you have discontinued your B.Sc, your highest educational qualification will still remain 12th. And so if you have to complete your B.Sc atleast to join ISRO as their Technical Assistant.
