ISRO
To get placed in ISRO after 10th is not possible as you need to have minimum degree of an undergraduate course of space science.
For getting in ISRO you should have studied intermediate with subjects such as physics and maths or PCM and you should get minimum of 75% above.
Then you should give the national entrance exam i.e., JEE mains and advanced and you should get the highest rank possible to get admission into IIST i.e., Indian Institution of Space Science and Technology where you could study in any stream you want.
Then you get placed in the ISRO if you get CGPA above 8. There is minimum of 80 students placed in the ISRO. Other students might get places in other sectors.
Hope this information is useful
Good luck
Hello,
shreya ,
i am happy to see this question.i appreciate your career to choose as ISRO as a scientist.
if you have decided to take up a career in space science ,it is advised to start early after class 10 .You should choose P.C.M(physics chemistry and mathematics) at class 12 and B.tech/B.E in such as electronics,Electrical,Mechanical and computer science. Who are aiming to ISRO jobs should pursue their bachelors degree or related to space technology and physics
A PHD in physics and mathematics is an added advantage
thank you ,
Cheers
In order to join ISRO in the future, BSc. Physics will be considered helpful. The basic educational qualification required is Msc or Btech. Msc can be in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics, but of you join BSc Physics, then I suggest you to go for MSc Physics next. However, you will need to appear a national-level written examination in offline mode and a personal interview. If you get selected, you can join ISRO.
Hope this helps!
ISRO is a reputed organisation and one must have a great deal of practical knowledge in order to join it. You can do Btech in astronomy or physics or can do engineering fields like electronics, Mechatronics, mechanical etc. Do have some internships or some job experiences and give your best and just keep learning. Watch some informative videos and keep looking ISRO website.
Thanks
Dear Aspirant,
If you want to become an astronaut then you must try for air force as many ISRO astronauts are from Air Force. For that you should focus on science now and then Physics Chemistry and Mathematics and Computer Science in your XI and XII.
To join air force, you also have to be graduate first. I suggest you should go with engineering, preferably Aeronautical engineering. You can then join AF and then you can go for ISRO also.
The exams you must prepare for are:-
JEE main and Advanced
AFCAT
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Hi Student,
There are two ways that aspirants can choose in order to join ISRO.
The first way of joining ISRO
The ISRO ICRB examination is a two stage examination. It comprises of a national-level written exam (offline mode) and a personal interview. The minimum qualification required is BE/BTech with at least 65% marks or 6.84 CGPA. The maximum age limit is 30 years.
The second way of joining ISRO
The second way is through IIST. After Class 12, students can also get admission into the IIST by clearing the JEE Mains and Advanced with a good rank. Apart from this they have to satisfy certain eligibility criteria. To be eligible for ISRO Counselling, IIST graduates must have scored above 7.5 CGPA or equivalent percentage.
Hope it helps you.
