what will I do if I did my graduation in ba geography can o go in ISRo or other remote sensing organization??? what r the other career options n their salary

Mayank Chowdhary 22nd Jun, 2020

Hello,

As far as I am concerned BA geography degree is not enough to join a organisation like ISRO. You should do masters or Phd and at the same time some internships or courses which can help you get inside ISRO or other organisations.

Though there are many other jobs available for BA in geography like -

1.) Climatologist

2.) Urban Planner

3.) Professor

4.) Demographer

5.) Geographer

6.) Travel and tourism

7.) Lab researcher

8.) Mining field

Thank you

I am a BSc Physics student. Is it possible for me to get a job in ISRO after my PG? If so,which MSc Physics course should I choose?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 31st Jul, 2020

hi,

indian space research institute i.e ISRO hires every year for different position , in recent years it hires for scientist b positions, qualification prescribed as candidates must have passed bachelor of technology or bachelor of engineering course in relevant discipline with the qualifying marks. also for master degree holders like m.sc in chemistry, m.sc in physics, scientific officer, technical assistant recruitment is done. so if you go for msc in physics you have chances to appear in isro recruitment exam if it matches with your qualification. now there is no surety that every year recruitment would done on all of the category, time to time it depends on the organization authority and there demand of work force.  however after completing m.sc in physics you may work as a lecturer, scientific officer post , it would be best if you go for msc courses from iits, since it has excellent placement record.

hope you may understand.

Which is better ISRO or DRSO...?Can I get a Job in DRDO being an aerospace engineer...?

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 15th Jun, 2020
Hello.
Work perspective of the organisation is different, Both ISRO (INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION)  and DRDO (DEFENCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION)  are government organisations, ISRO basically incline to the area of space research while DRDO is incline to the area of military research, work of both is entirely different and they both are necessary for the proper growth of the country so it will be difficult to compare these both because we can only compare two organisations when their work area is different but here it doesn't look like this both are comparable on the same level, there is nothing like DRSO I think you want to ask about DRDO that can you do aerospace engineering or not, so I would like to inform you that it basically depends  upon the vacancy, it might be possible that in some year vacancies are zero for aerospace engineering and in other year it may be in a good amount but you can do if vacancy available then your selection will be done on the basis of your GATE score.
Best of luck.

i need to became a scientist in isro so what group should i take after 10 th

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 13th Jun, 2020
There are various levels at which you can join ISRO and at various designations.
After 12th: You can get into IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) for their Undergraduate programmes. The admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. Which means you need to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. You can pick any of their 4 year Bachelor programmes like B.Tech in Physical Sciences, B.Tech in Avionics and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, etc. Or you can also pick up their 5 year Integrated courses in Master of Science in Astronomy and AstroPhysics, Master of Technology in Earth System Science, Master of Science in Solid State Physics and Master of Science in Optical Engineering, etc.

Opportunities are amazing for academically brilliant candidates. With a CGPA of 7.5 or higher, subject to the availability of vacancies, you get placed in ISRO. Aero and Avio graduates have better prospects even outside ISRO.

After B.Tech: IIST also offers Postgraduate Programmes like:
M.Tech in Soft Computing & Machine Learning
M.Tech in RF & Microwave Engineering
M.Tech in Geo informatics
M.Tech in Optical Engineering
M.Tech in Machine Learning & Computing
M.Tech in Solid State Technology
M.Tech in VLSI & Microsystems
M.Tech in Materials Science & Technology, etc.

Opportunities depend upon ISRO Placements conducted by centralised recruitment committee.

How can I get into isro? I have completed my graduation in BSc electronics.

Smeet Almeida 12th Jun, 2020

Greetings, aspirant!

Getting into ISRO is not an easy task at all due to the prevalent competition as well as the seriousness of the job profile.

ISRO conducts a written exam every year to recruit students. Students that have a background in Mechanical, Electronics or Civil disciplines etc have a better chance of being recruited. Following the examination, there's also an interview round. The vacancies in ISRO are for posts of Scientists, Technicians, admin officers, purchase officers etc.

A BSc graduate can be recruited as a scientific assistant. If you wish to opt for a higher post, you need to finish your MSc or higher studies.

Overall, getting a job in ISRO is a very prestigious thing and equally difficult so. However, with a high enough qualification, even if you don't get into ISRO, it can land you a well paying job or you can become a researcher in a space research organisation.

Hope this information helps

Best of luck!!

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 12th Jun, 2020

Jobs in ISRO depend on the Vacancies in various departments. One department that can come closer to Nuclear Physics is Physics Research Laboratory. It deals with Planetary exploration programme and it is involved with Planetary studies and explosions. It is a research laboratory and you can read about the current openings at: https://www.isro.gov.in/about-isro/physical-research-laboratory-prl
