ISRO mein kaam karne ke 2 tareeke hain. Ek toh ap IIST mein join hoke B.Tech padna hain. Aur IIST mein admissions JEE Advanced ke dwaara hoga. Toh aapko Physics aur Mathematics zaroori subjects honge. Aur doosre tareekha hain B.Sc Physics ke dwaara Technical Assistant ke quailfication pe jaane ka. Lekin uskke liye bhi aapko Physics zaroori subject hai.

BARC mein GATE scores ke dwaara admissions hote hain. Isko bhi Physics, Chemistry aur Mathematics ke subjects zaroori hain

IES exam ka eligibility hain Engineering degree. Isko bhi Physics, Chemistry aur Mathematics zaroori hain.

Lekin aap agar lateral entry se padre toh aapka B.Tech qualification consider karenge aur aap ye teeno exas ko apne B.Tech qualification se qualify ho jaate hain. Apko ISRO ke liye B.Tech ke baad M.Tech ke liye IIST mein hona padega. Hindi humara first langugae nahin hain. Isliye agar koi doubts hain toh comment section mein likhlijye.

There are various levels at which you can join ISRO and at various designations.
After 12th: You can get into IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) for their Undergraduate programmes. The admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. Which means you need to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. You can pick any of their 4 year Bachelor programmes like B.Tech in Physical Sciences, B.Tech in Avionics and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, etc. Or you can also pick up their 5 year Integrated courses in Master of Science in Astronomy and AstroPhysics, Master of Technology in Earth System Science, Master of Science in Solid State Physics and Master of Science in Optical Engineering, etc.

Opportunities are amazing for academically brilliant candidates. With a CGPA of 7.5 or higher, subject to the availability of vacancies, you get placed in ISRO. Aero and Avio graduates have better prospects even outside ISRO.

After B.Tech: IIST also offers Postgraduate Programmes like:
M.Tech in Soft Computing & Machine Learning
M.Tech in RF & Microwave Engineering
M.Tech in Geo informatics
M.Tech in Optical Engineering
M.Tech in Machine Learning & Computing
M.Tech in Solid State Technology
M.Tech in VLSI & Microsystems
M.Tech in Materials Science & Technology, etc.

Opportunities depend upon ISRO Placements conducted by centralised recruitment committee.

After completing a 4 years course from IIST, students join ISRO but Masters degree and PhD are also offered at IIST so what is the pathway?

After students complete their bachelor's degree, we take them in ISRO and then they get an opportunity to do the master's degree at appropriate time maybe two or three years later. We encourage them not only those who are coming from IIST, those who are joining from elsewhere we encourage them to do the master's degree and if they are very keen to do the doctoral degree we encourage them to do that also. There are a number of scientists and engineers who have done the masters and  doctoral degree and they have contributed very well to the entire program.

Is getting into ISRO/DRDO easier after doing PhD in aerospace engineering

Bhawna Mehbubani 17th May, 2020

Dear Renu,

DRDO had a scheme for science/engineering PhD graduates called ROSSA (Registration Of Students with Scholastic Aptitude) in which a scholar of less than 35 years of age was eligible to apply for the post of Scientist C under this scheme throughout the year. Based on his/her area of research, DRDO used to shortlist the candidates for interview. But unfortunately now,  this scheme stands suspended .

There is no such scheme in ISRO as in my knowledge.

A PhD candidate can now apply only against the advertised vacancy in DRDO/ISRO. You can check out the links

Muskaan Singh 28th Apr, 2021

JIMS Kalkaji and JIMS Rohini both are equally good colleges with similar resources to tap and they both have great placement but where the actual difference lies is the college life experience, which according to me JIMS Kalkaji provides better.
