Is it ncte recognised College? I have passed out b.ed degree from this college in 2014 but now I cant get ncte approval certificate

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 16th Dec, 2025

If you have completed your B. Ed degree in 2014 and are now unable to get the NCTE approval or recognition certificate, it does not automatically mean that your degree is invalid. What matters most is whether the college was recognised by NCTE during the year in which you took admission and completed the course.

First, you should check the NCTE recognition status for your college for the academic year 2013–14 or the year mentioned on your admission and final marksheets. Many colleges were recognised earlier but later lost recognition, merged, or closed, which can make it difficult to obtain documents now. If the college was recognised at that time, your B. Ed degree remains valid for employment and higher studies.

If you cannot get the certificate directly from the college, you can try the following steps. Approach the affiliating university and request a written confirmation that the college was NCTE recognised during your batch year. Universities usually maintain affiliation and recognition records. You can also check archived NCTE recognition orders for the relevant year and keep a copy as supporting proof. In many cases, recruiting bodies accept university confirmation along with degree certificates.

If you are facing issues in teacher recruitment, document verification, or government job applications, you can submit an explanation letter along with available proof such as admission letter, marksheets, degree certificate, and university confirmation. If needed, you may also file an RTI to NCTE or the university to obtain official recognition details of that period.

In case the college was not recognised during your admission year, then the degree may not be accepted for government teaching posts, and you may need to consider alternative options like enrolling in a recognised B. Ed programme again or exploring non-teaching career paths where NCTE approval is not mandatory.

It is advisable to act quickly, collect written confirmations, and keep all documents ready for future verification. All the best.

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 16th Dec, 2025

MHCET Law (MAH CET Law) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra, for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB courses in government, aided, and unaided law colleges in the state. Colleges like Government Law College (GLC) Mumbai and Rizvi Law College are among the top and most preferred options because of their academic reputation, experienced faculty, affordable fees, and strong alumni base.

About the exam pattern, MHCET Law is a computer-based test. For the 5-year LLB, the paper usually consists of around 150 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 120 minutes. The sections include Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge with Current Affairs, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, English, and Basic Mathematics. For the 3-year LLB, the exam pattern is similar but without the Mathematics section, and the focus is slightly more on legal reasoning and general awareness. Each question generally carries one mark, there is no negative marking, and speed with accuracy is very important.

Regarding preparation strategy, start by understanding the syllabus and exam pattern clearly. Legal aptitude should be your top priority, as it carries significant weightage and helps in differentiating ranks. Practice legal reasoning questions daily to improve comprehension and application of legal principles. For general knowledge and current affairs, make it a habit to read newspapers regularly and revise important national and international events, legal news, and static GK. Logical reasoning requires consistent practice of puzzles, syllogisms, assumptions, and arguments. For English, focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar basics, and sentence correction. If you are appearing for the 5-year LLB exam, revise basic mathematics topics like percentages, profit and loss, averages, ratios, and simple interest.

For books, you can rely on standard law entrance preparation material that covers legal aptitude and reasoning clearly with practice questions. Books for logical reasoning and general aptitude are also useful, along with a good current affairs compilation for the exam year. Solving previous years’ question papers and taking mock tests is extremely important, as it helps you understand the difficulty level, manage time better, and identify your weak areas.

As for timings and exam schedule, the notification for MHCET Law is usually released in the first half of the year, with the exam conducted a few months later. After the results, centralized counselling (CAP rounds) is conducted where seats are allotted based on rank, category, domicile status, and college preference. To get into top colleges like GLC Mumbai or Rizvi Law College, you need a strong score and a good rank, especially under the Maharashtra domicile category.

If you prepare consistently, focus on legal reasoning and current affairs, and practice mock tests regularly, you will have a good chance of securing admission in your preferred law college. All the best.

I m scoring 74 marks in clat Obc category Bihar domicile Is it possible to get cnlu

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 16th Dec, 2025

With a CLAT score of around 74 marks, OBC category, and Bihar domicile, you do have a fair chance of getting admission to Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, but it cannot be considered fully guaranteed.

CNLU offers domicile-based reservation for Bihar candidates along with category reservation, which works in your favour. In previous years, the closing scores for OBC Bihar domicile candidates at CNLU have generally been lower than the All India OBC cut-offs. A score in the low to mid-70s has often remained competitive for state quota seats, especially by later rounds of counselling.

However, CLAT cut-offs vary every year depending on factors like the difficulty level of the paper, number of applicants, seat matrix, and counselling trends. If the paper is comparatively easier or competition is higher, cut-offs may rise slightly.

You should definitely participate in CLAT counselling and keep CNLU Patna high in your preference list. At the same time, it is advisable to also include other NLUs where OBC category cut-offs are slightly lower, so that you have backup options in later rounds.

Keep checking counselling updates and seat allotment rounds carefully, as many candidates get seats after withdrawals in subsequent rounds.

All the best.
