Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes
Hi nilesh,
The syllabus of IIT Joint admission test(JAM) for Physics which I got from the official website consists of 7 topics. One of the topic is mathematical methods. JAM 2022 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee and it is said they have done some changes in the syllabus so check it out. Now the syllabus of 12th grade maths differs for each board. I am going to take reference from NCERT 12th maths textbook which is highly recommended for competitive exams and I would personally suggest it too. Now after comparing both syllabus of IIT Jam Physics and NCERT maths book, the topics which needs the most attention is Algebra i.e matrices and determinants, Calculus i.e integrals, derivatives and differential equations and Vectors excluding the 3 dimensional geometry. Starting from 12th board seems a good strategy and I hope your hard work pays off. I hope you got the answer you were looking for if not please l et me know.
All the very best.

Experts say that strategy implementation might aid in effective physics paper preparations for JAM. The JAM preparation methods provided by toppers may help you score higher than other JAM candidates.
Start by understanding the IIT JAM Syllabus and Paper Pattern.
First and foremost, you must understand the JAM SYLLABUS and Pattern. As you are all aware, the syllabus is extensive, therefore begin studying a few months before the test. Don't get tangled up in issues that aren't in the syllabus. Stick to the syllabus for your subject.
Recognize the Exam Pattern and Time Limits-The duration of the exam will be 3 hours for all exam papers. All exam papers will be written in English only.
Candidates are advised to prepare a list of subjects and prioritise them according to the marks given to them. Create a schedule with the subject distribution now. It will assist you in studying various courses in accordance with your grades. If the distribution is not properly planned, you will most likely study random things, which may result in confusion in the end.
Attempt to solve as many past year's papers and mock tests as possible because this will give you a good understanding of the level of difficulty, pattern, and how to devote the least amount of time to each type of question. This will assist you in better understanding yourself, your talents, and the field in which you are lacking.
Reference books are the greatest investment for the exam since they provide a thorough overview, covering the whole syllabus, as well as sample question papers and solved exams.
Understand the theory of the topics that you are most interested in, such as optics, modern physics, and calculus.
Then attempt to answer as many questions as you can, especially those from the prior year.
Hope it helped
