What is a Journalism Course? Can you give me the necessary details?

Priyanka 8th Dec, 2021

Journalism is gathering information, collating it and creating something informative out of it. Apart from these basic roles, a journalist is also required to comment on events being reported but diplomatically, to not influence any reader too strongly. https://www.careers360.com/courses/journalism-course

is it necessary to do a degree in journalism to become a journalist or are there other paths too to become one ?

Manas Daspriya 8th Nov, 2021

Hello aspirant,

To become a journalist you don't need any degree in the subject but if you avail a degree it will help you to get higher posts or job easily. As many of the recruiters need a student having journalism degree for them.

You should at least take enough courses to pick up the basics, however, and if you actually want to get a job with a news organization, you'll need either a degree in journalism, some pretty significant published work, or family in the business.

You can enroll in various programmes such as Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication,Bachelor of Media Science,Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications etc.

Hope it helps you..

Best of luck..
