There is no reason why you can't pursue a postgraduate course in English language at the age of 55. In fact, it's a wonderful way to keep learning and expand your horizons. Most postgraduate programs in English (like MA in English Literature, MA in Applied Linguistics) require a bachelor's degree in any discipline. However, some universities might have relaxation for mature students (above a certain age) with a relevant diploma. Apply to universities offering MA in English or related programs. Explain your background and passion for English in your application essay. Highlight any relevant skills or experience you might have (e.g., communication skills from your engineering background). Some universities offer postgraduate diploma or certificate programs in English specifically designed for working professionals or those seeking career change. These might be shorter and more flexible options.
Consider universities known for their English language programs, such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Central Universities, and reputable private universities.
Look for universities with programs offering options for distance learning or part-time studies, which can be helpful for managing your time. I hope it helps!
You won't face major problems regarding language at KLE Technological University (KLE Tech) if you are from Rajasthan and don't know the local language (assumed to be Kannada). KLE Tech offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and English is the primary medium of instruction for most of these programs. This means lectures, course materials, and exams will be conducted in English. KLE Tech attracts students from various parts of India, and English serves as the common language for communication among students and faculty. You'll likely find many students who are not native Kannada speakers. While English is widely used, you might encounter Kannada in everyday interactions with local shopkeepers, transportation providers, or hostel staff. However, basic English or Hindi (another widely spoken language in India) can often help you navigate these situations. https://www.careers360.com/university/kle-technological-university-hubballi I hope it helps!
If you have two domain subjects-History and Geography, and one language subject-English, then yes, you are eligible for many courses at Delhi University (DU), especially in the Arts and Humanities stream.
Based on your subjects, here are some DU undergraduate courses you may be eligible for:
1. BA (Hons) History – you have History as a domain subject, so you can apply. 2. BA (Hons) Geography – same as above, since Geography is your second domain subject. 3. BA (Hons) Political Science – DU accepts related subjects like History and Geography for eligibility. 4. BA Programme (Multidisciplinary) – a flexible course where you can choose two subjects like History and Geography or others depending on the college. 5. BA (Hons) Sociology, Philosophy, Hindi, Sanskrit etc. – some of these courses accept any two domain subjects, and your combination is generally acceptable.
For these courses, Delhi University considers your CUET score, calculated using your best language + two domain subjects.
So with History, Geography, and English, you can definitely apply to many courses in DU Arts stream.

Hello
CBSE requires you to have one language subject, and since you took Sanskrit Core, it can replace English Core. Your 100 marks in Sanskrit will be counted as your language score instead of 91 in English. This will help improve your overall percentage. Just ensure your school has officially marked Sanskrit as your language subject. If that’s done, your final percentage will include Sanskrit, not English. So, don’t worry your strong Sanskrit score works in your favor!
