The university accepts National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores for admission to M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. programmes. After getting the NEET scores, eligible candidates need to register and participate in UP NEET counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Lucknow.

To fill out the application form for King George’s Medical University Lucknow, the eligible candidates are required to visit KGMU admission portal. They have to follow the required steps and pay the application fee for the successful completion of the application process.

King George’s Medical University admission to M.D. and M.S courses is given on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in NEET PG. Merit-cum-need scholarship from institute, will be provided to meritorious students holding the top position in First, second and third professional examination of each discipline for which one can apply through SWD website. The scholarship would waive university tuition costs and offer financial aid up to Rs. 10,000 every year.

One of the renowned Govt Dental Colleges in Lucknow is the Faculty of Dental Sciences of King George's Medical University in U.P. Lucknow. There is a total of 9 departments, with an annual intake of 70 BDS students and 46 MDS students.

King George’s Medical University (KGMU) is a public state university established in the year 1905. In 2002 the university name was changed to Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University. However, the varsity name was reverted to King George’s Medical University in 2003. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
