I have completed BSc in the stream of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science in 2023 but now I wanted to take up MSc in Forestry, is that possible.

Prachi Kumari 24th May, 2025

Hello,

Yes, it is usually possible to take MSc in Forestry after completing BSc in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. However, it depends on the university and their eligibility criteria.

Some universities may ask for a background in biology or related subjects, while others may allow admission based on your overall graduation and entrance test scores.

You should check the specific requirements of the universities you want to apply to. Sometimes, they may ask for a bridge course or some basic knowledge in forestry-related subjects before starting MSc.

So, it’s best to contact the admission office of the universities for clear guidance.

Hope it helps !

I have passed compartment in chemistry but fail in mathematics can I take admission in aiims bsc nursing

Prachi Kumari 23rd May, 2025

Hello,

Yes, you can take admission in AIIMS BSc Nursing if you have passed the required subjects as per their eligibility criteria.

Usually, for BSc Nursing, passing Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is important. Mathematics is not always mandatory. But, you should check the latest AIIMS BSc Nursing eligibility rules to be sure. If they don’t require Maths, your fail in Maths won’t affect your admission.

Hope it helps !

I have already gotten admission in Christ Central Campus for their BSC in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, and I am trying for St. Xaviers Kolkata for their BA Economics program. Which would be better if I want to go abroad to a top college for a masters? And which is better overall?

kumardurgesh1802 22nd May, 2025

Hello Aryan,

Here’s a simple comparison to help you decide between Christ Central Campus (BSc Economics, Mathematics, Statistics) and St. Xavier’s Kolkata (BA Economics) if you want to pursue a top master’s abroad and overall:

For Going Abroad to Top Colleges for Masters:

  • Christ Central Campus (BSc in Economics, Math & Stats)

    • Stronger quantitative background, which is highly valued in top international universities.

    • Math and statistics skills improve your chances for master’s programs in Economics, Data Science, Finance, or related fields abroad.

    • Better preparation for competitive exams like GRE, which many top universities require.

  • St. Xavier’s Kolkata (BA Economics)

    • Strong in core economics theory and liberal arts, but may have less quantitative depth compared to BSc.

    • Good for students focused on policy, development economics, or social sciences.

If your goal is a master’s abroad in Economics or related fields, Christ Central Campus might give you an edge due to the quantitative skills.

Overall Comparison:

  • Christ Central Campus

    • Offers a rigorous quantitative curriculum.

    • Growing reputation, especially in economics with quantitative focus.

  • St. Xavier’s Kolkata

    • Established and prestigious college with a long history and strong alumni network.

    • Excellent for holistic development and networking, especially in arts and humanities.

      Summary:

  • For top master’s abroad , especially in Economics, Finance, or Data Science — Christ Central Campus (BSc) is better.

  • For overall prestige, campus experience, and networking in India , St. Xavier’s Kolkata (BA) is strong.

I got 136/240 in MET test and 78% in boards, can I get CSE with spealization in banglore campus or mathematics and computing in manipal campus and what will be my expected rank?

Niharika Patibandla 18th May, 2025

Hey there! with a MET score of 136/240 and 78% in boards, your estimated rank would be around 4,500 to 6,000. For B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at MIT Bangalore, the closing rank in 2024 was approximately 5,687. For Mathematics and Computing at MIT Manipal, the closing rank is around 4,608. Therefore, you have a good chance of securing CSE at the Bangalore campus. Admission  to Mathematics and Computing at Manipal campus is competitive, but you might still have a chance in later counselling rounds. Keep an eye on official website and consider listing both programs in your preferences. All the best!

BHU, Varanasi

  • Established Reputation : One of India’s oldest and most prestigious universities.

  • Strong Faculty : Well-experienced professors in pure and applied mathematics.

  • Research Opportunities : Good for students aiming for higher studies (M.Sc./PhD).

  • Fees : Very affordable (government funded).

  • Crowd : Diverse and academically focused peer group.

  • Drawback : Less industry exposure or internships for UG students.

Shiv Nadar University (SNU), Greater Noida

  • Modern Curriculum : Interdisciplinary approach, updated teaching methods.

  • Industry Exposure : Better internship opportunities, global linkages.

  • Faculty : Highly qualified, including PhDs from top institutes.

  • Infrastructure : World-class labs, classrooms, campus.

  • Fees : Much higher than BHU (private university).

  • Drawback : Newer university, less academic legacy compared to BHU.
