National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
The cutoff scores for Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur, in the All India Quota (AIQ) B category for NEET 2024 were 665 in Round 1 (AIR 15,663) and 657 in Rounds 2 and 3 (AIR approximately 20,825–21,137). Later rounds saw a minor decline in the cutoff, although generally speaking, entry in this category needed a score above 650.
If you scored 230 marks in NEET 2025 and belong to the OBC category, getting a government medical college seat for MBBS is difficult because the cutoff is usually higher.
But you may still get admission in some government or semi-government colleges for other health-related courses. You should apply through your state counselling and select available options. Sometimes, seats become available in later rounds, so don’t lose hope.
Yes, NEET is one of the toughest entrance exams in India, but with the right plan and hard work, you can clear it. Here's a simple way to prepare:
Study NCERT books for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These books are the most important for NEET. Make a daily study timetable and follow it. Give equal time to all three subjects. Understand the concepts clearly instead of just memorizing. Practice questions every day and solve previous year NEET papers. Take mock tests regularly. It helps improve your speed and confidence. Clear your doubts on time by asking your teachers or using online help. Stay focused, avoid distractions, and stay healthy.
If you study with full dedication every day, you can definitely crack NEET.
Hello,
With 230 marks in NEET 2025, it is quite difficult to get admission in a government BAMS college , especially if you belong to the general category .
However, if you are from a reserved category (like SC/ST/OBC) , then you might have a slight chance in some states where the cut-off goes low. Even then, chances are still low for top govt colleges .
You can try for private BAMS colleges or deemed universities , where the cut-off is usually lower. Also, keep checking state-wise counselling as some states may have lower cut-offs.
You can also use our NEET College Predictor Tool to predict which college you can get based on your score.
Hope it helps !
With 180 marks in NEET and belonging to the general category, it may be quite difficult to secure a seat in a government medical college for MBBS, as the cut-offs are generally higher.
However, you may have a chance in private medical colleges or other health-related courses like BDS, BAMS, BHMS, or nursing, where the cut-offs could be lower.
In NEET UG 2025, the cutoff to get admission in government medical colleges was different for each category and state. If you are from the general category, you need at least around 620 marks or more to get a seat under the All India Quota. For OBC category, the safe score is around 590 to 610. For SC and ST, it can be between 430 to 495, especially under state quota.
In some states like Karnataka, the cutoff for general category was above 530 marks. SC and ST students with around 450 marks also got seats in government colleges under the state quota.
So, to get into a government medical college, aim for higher marks. If your marks are between 430 and 620, your chances depend on your category and the state you belong to.

Even with a strong NEET score, candidates must satisfy the specific eligibility criteria in their 12th standard examinations to be considered for admission to BAMS or other AYUSH programs. The regulatory bodies—CCIM/NCISM—require that students pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.
Additionally, there are minimum aggregate marks required in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology: 50% for General category, and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. This criterion is strictly enforced. A good NEET score alone is not sufficient; both the NEET qualification and the PCB percentage must be met for admission.
