Sir can i get admission in Electrical engineering in NiT patna if i got 93percentile in jee mains and i will apply ews and state quota

Rubina Naseer 27th May, 2025

Hello,

You have a moderate chance of being accepted into NIT Patna's Electrical Engineering program if you applied under the EWS category and the Bihar state quota and scored in the 93th percentile of JEE Main 2025. This branch's EWS category closing ranks in prior years were quite near to your anticipated rank. Cutoffs, seat availability, and competition in your category all affect your chances of getting in. During JoSAA counselling, it is advised to rank NIT Patna's Electrical Engineering as a top choice. To increase your chances of admission, keep backup options in comparable NITs and think about related fields like instrumentation or EEE.
All the best.

Which is better nit patna civil engineering or nit jamshedpur meterial and metallurgy engineering for future of india

sadafreen356 1st May, 2025

For the future of India, NIT Jamshedpur's Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program is likely a better choice than NIT Patna's Civil Engineering program, especially considering India's growing manufacturing and materials science sectors. NIT Jamshedpur offers a strong program with strong industry ties, particularly with Tata Steel, and a history of excellent placements.

NIT Jamshedpur's Advantages:

Strong Industry Connections:

NIT Jamshedpur has strong ties with Tata Steel, a major player in the steel industry, offering numerous opportunities for internships, placements, and research.

Focus on Emerging Materials:

The Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program at NIT Jamshedpur is well-suited for the growing demand for advanced materials in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and electronics.

High Placement Rate:

NIT Jamshedpur generally boasts a high placement rate, particularly for core engineering branches like Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, with many students securing jobs in the steel industry and related sectors.

NIT Patna's Advantages:

Civil Engineering Demand:

Civil Engineering remains a vital field in India, especially with ongoing infrastructure development projects.

Established Institution:

NIT Patna is a well-established institution with a long history in engineering education.

Overall:

While both programs are valuable, NIT Jamshedpur's Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program aligns better with India's future industrial landscape, especially with the emphasis on advanced materials and the strong industry connections it offers. The program at NIT Jamshedpur also has a higher placement rate compared to NIT Patna's civil engineering program.

can we get a cse seat in NIT Patna with 95.485 percentile in jee mains 2025 in obc ncl female category

SUKRITI GUPTA 6th Apr, 2025

Greetings! Here's a detailed response to your query

It looks like getting a CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) seat in NIT Patna with a 95.485 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 under the OBC NCL female category is quite possible.

Based on the expected cutoffs for 2025, the closing rank for OBC NCL category in CSE at NIT Patna is predicted to be around 4810. Your percentile of 95.485 should translate to a rank well within this range, especially considering you are a female candidate, which might give you a slight advantage due to category-specific reservations.

However, these are just expected cutoffs. The actual ranks can vary depending on the difficulty of the exam and the number of applicants. To be sure, keep an eye on the official JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling process and the actual cutoff ranks released after each round. You have a good chance, so prepare well for the counselling!

Which college is better for civil engineering nit patna aur nit Silchar

Sajal Trivedi 16th Feb, 2025

Hello aspirant,

Both NITs have excellent placement rates; about 90% of students were placed in both institutions. However, NIT Silchar has superior facilities compared to NIT Patna. Overall in my opinion, NIT Silchar is beeter than NIT Patna and it is also established earlier than NIT Patna.

Thank you

Can I get nit patna at 70 percentile

Prachi Kumari 13th Feb, 2025

Hello Akansha,

At 70 percentile in JEE Mains, your chances of getting NIT Patna are low, but here are some key points to consider:

  1. General Category: Unlikely to get core branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical.
  2. Home State Quota: If you are from Bihar, you may have slightly better chances in lower-demand branches.
  3. Category Reservation: SC/ST/PwD candidates may have better chances with relaxed cutoffs.
  4. Special Rounds: Participate in CSAB/Special Rounds for better chances.
  5. Alternative Options: Consider GFTIs or state engineering colleges for backup.

Wishing you the best !

hey myself mihir kumar. I want to know about admission process of nit patna or other nits. I am a diploma student can I admission in nit?

Shambhavi shambhavi 30th Dec, 2024

Hi Mihir! Yes, you can get admission to NITs, including NIT Patna, after completing your diploma. The admission process is as follows:

1. Eligibility Criteria:

You must have completed a diploma (in Engineering or a related field) from a recognized institution.

You need to meet the required aggregate marks in your diploma (usually around 60% or more, but it may vary depending on the NIT).

2. Lateral Entry Scheme:

NITs offer lateral entry admission to students holding a diploma through the JEE Main exam.

You will enter directly into the second year (3rd semester) of the B.Tech program.

3. JEE Main Lateral Entry:

You will need to qualify for the JEE Main Lateral Entry examination, which is conducted by NTA. This exam is specifically for lateral entry candidates.

Alternatively, some NITs may admit lateral entry students based on their diploma marks.

4. Application Process:

Apply for JEE Main through the official NTA website when the application window opens.

After qualifying for JEE Main, you will need to register for the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling, where seats are allocated based on your JEE Main rank and preferences.

5. Counseling:

The counseling process involves document verification, choice filling, seat allocation, and payment of fees.

6. Important Note:

Each NIT may have different cutoffs and seat availability for lateral entry, so it’s best to check the official NIT Patna and other NIT websites for specific details.

If you need more details about a particular NIT o

r the lateral entry process, feel free to ask!

Im getting NIT Patna 5 year integrated (BTech+MTech) Cyber security but I want to give GATE and try to get IIT to do MTech in cse. Is it possible to leave 5 year integrated course if I qualify GATE and want to do MTech from other colleges?

Nitin Kumar 12th Jun, 2024

In most cases, leaving a 5-year integrated M.Tech program after the B.Tech portion (usually after 4 years) to pursue an M.Tech elsewhere through GATE is not possible.

Integrated programs are designed as a complete package, with the B.Tech portion leading seamlessly into the M.Tech specialization. Exiting after the B.Tech portion might disrupt the curriculum and might not grant you a standalone B.Tech degree.

Universities often have regulations that don't allow students to exit integrated programs midway.

Carefully review the regulations or brochures related to the 5-year integrated M.Tech program at NIT Patna. Look for sections on program structure, exit options, or award of degrees. Reach out to the admissions office or program coordinator at NIT Patna. They can give you the most accurate information about leaving the program after the B.Tech portion.
