Devyani Prakash 16th Feb, 2024

Hello student,

if you scored 88.5 percentile but you belong from the general category, then it will be tough to get NIT Patna. However, if you belong to reserved category like the ST, then you have a chance to get through.

If you want only NIT Patna and you belong to other categories, then I suggest that you sit for the second attempt in the April session to imrpve your score and increase your chances.

If you want to check your rank range based on your percentile, then you can refer to the Careers360 JEE Main Rank Predictor: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor?

Question : Select the option that will improve the underlined part of the sentence. In case no improvement is needed, select ‘No improvement required’.
He sounded like he were to going cry.

Option 1: No improvement required

Option 2: were going to

Option 3: going to

Option 4: was going to

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: was going to

Solution : The fourth option is the correct answer.

When expressing the future action of an individual, it is common to use was going to or were going to depending on the subject. In the sentence, the past tense was should be used because the speaker is describing a past situation where it refers to the singular subject he. As per subject-verb agreement, a singular subject should be followed by a singular verb, i.e., was in this case.

Therefore, the correct sentence should be "He sounded like he was going to cry."
