You must buy NCERT textbooks as they are good textbooks and contains all the syllabus. It is advisable to go through NCERT textbooks too, along with the study material as these books are directly based on the syllabus by CBSE and most competitive exams based on 12th.

Kendriya Vidhyalaya School are government schools which comes under the MHRD ministry of india. The school follows the NCERT SYLLABUS as followed by most public schools as prescribed by CBSE. Only the private schools habe options whether they want to include NCERT SYLLABUS or not
