Whether any PSUs recruit physics postgraduates who cleared gate physics with AIR below 100?If so plz mention those PSUs

kumardurgesh1802 22nd Apr, 2025

Hello there,

Yes, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) recruit Physics postgraduates who have cleared the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam with a good rank (below 100). While these PSUs typically focus on engineering disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc., there are a few PSUs that recruit for Physics and related branches (e.g., Material Science, Nuclear Science).

Here are some PSUs that might hire Physics postgraduates through GATE:

  1. BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) : BHEL occasionally recruits candidates with backgrounds in Physics, especially for roles related to research and development or specialized positions.

  2. NPCIL (Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited) : NPCIL is one of the prominent recruiters for candidates with a background in Physics, particularly in the nuclear power sector.

  3. BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) : BARC recruits postgraduates in Physics for roles related to nuclear science and technology, often through their OCES/DGFS programs.

  4. SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) : Though SAIL is primarily focused on engineering disciplines, they may occasionally have openings for candidates with a Physics background, especially in material science or related fields.

  5. HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) : HAL has openings in fields that could be suitable for Physics postgraduates, particularly in material sciences, avionics, and research & development.

  6. ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) : ONGC may also consider candidates with a Physics background, particularly for positions in research or scientific positions.

While Physics postgraduates are less commonly recruited than engineering graduates, specialized roles in these PSUs (related to research, nuclear science, material science, etc.) do open up opportunities. To stay updated, regularly check the official websites of these PSUs or employment news portals for recruitment notifications.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

can i get btech physics with 94.4148 percentile with home qouta and obc and female for nit calicut

sadafreen356 20th Apr, 2025

It's difficult to say definitively whether a 94.4148 percentile in JEE Main, with home state, OBC, and female quota, will guarantee a BTech Physics seat at NIT Calicut. While a 94 percentile is a good score, it's not a guarantee of admission to a specific program at a specific NIT.

The final cutoff ranks and percentiles for NIT Calicut vary from year to year and are influenced by factors like the overall JEE Main performance, the number of applicants, and the number of seats available.

Your percentile needs to be converted to a rank, which is what is used for seat allotment during the JoSAA counselling process.

Home state quotas can significantly impact your chances, as seats are reserved for students from the state where the NIT is located.

These quotas further influence seat allocation, and the impact on a program like BTech Physics will depend on the specific number of reserved seats and the overall demand for that program.

I suggest you to use JEE predictor tool which will help you to know your chances in nit Calicut .

I signed my KCET OMR sheet(physics only)differently than I had given in the nomini. what should I do?

Prachi Kumari 20th Apr, 2025

Hello,

If you signed your KCET OMR sheet for Physics differently than the signature given in the nomination (application) form, don't worry too much right now. This may or may not create a problem, but here’s what you can do:

  • Contact KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) as soon as possible and explain your issue clearly.

  • If needed, they might ask you to give an affidavit or provide identity proof during document verification.

Usually, if all other details match and it's clear that you are the same person, they may not treat it as a serious issue. But still, informing KEA is the best thing to do.

Hope it helps !

I have got 74 out of 180 in kcet 2025 in pcb how much rank I can get my pu board marks of physics is 89 , chemistry is 93 and biology 96 I am general category obc 3A how much rank I can get in 2025 analysis please say correctly Im scared

KAPIL 24th Apr, 2025
  1. KCET marks (out of 180) = 74
    → (74/180) × 100 = 41.11

  2. PUC average (you got ~92.67%)

Final normalized score = (41.11 + 92.67) / 2 = 66.89

a 66.89 composite score , here’s a rough estimate of your PCB rank (for general category including OBC 3A):

  • Expected Rank Range : 45,000 – 55,000

Am I eligible for AAI junior executive as I completed my graduation 8n mathematics but didnt have physics in any semester??

Gregary mathew K.B 24th Apr, 2025

To be eligible for the AAI Junior Executive position, it typically requires a degree in relevant fields such as Engineering or Science . For the Junior Executive in Air Traffic Control, a background in Physics is often necessary , as it is a key subject for understanding the technical aspects of the role.

Since you graduated with a degree in Mathematics without Physics, you may not meet the specific eligibility criteria for this position. However, it's best to check the official AAI recruitment notification or contact their HR department for precise information regarding eligibility and any possible exceptions.

which NIT i can get with 97670 CRL in JEE mains.. I like to 5 years integrated program for MSC physics or engineering physics. I am female and my home state is telangana

SUKRITI GUPTA 19th Apr, 2025

With a CRL rank of 97670 in JEE Mains, securing a seat in a 5-year integrated MSc Physics or Engineering Physics program at a top NIT might be challenging, especially for the general female category from the other state (Telangana). However, there could still be possibilities in some of the newer or less preferred NITs.

For MSc Physics, based on the previous year's data, you might have a chance in NITs like NIT Warangal (your home state advantage might play a role, though the general female other state cutoffs tend to be higher), NIT Calicut , NIT Silchar , and NIT Jamshedpur . However, for the top NITs like NIT Trichy , the cutoff for MSc Physics for the general category usually stays within a much lower rank range.

For Engineering Physics, the options might be even more limited as fewer NITs offer this specific integrated program. You would need to specifically check the availability and cutoffs for Engineering Physics in each NIT.

Given your rank, it's crucial to explore the cutoffs of these NITs for the previous years, specifically focusing on the general female category under the other state quota. Keep in mind that cutoff ranks can vary each year depending on factors like the difficulty of the exam and the number of applicants.

Your best strategy would be to actively participate in the JoSAA counseling process. Fill in as many NITs as possible in your order of preference where you find a potential chance based on previous year's data. While the top NITs might be difficult, you might secure a seat in a decent NIT for your desired program through the counseling process, especially in later rounds. Keep an open mind and also explore other good institutes that might be within your reach with this rank.
