For the first time, the Delhi Government is planning to implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in all Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE), as well as at the junior levels of another section of schools in East Delhi, as part of the sweeping reforms in education being attempted by the Delhi government. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a private international organisation that has traditionally been linked with high-end private schools in India; the SoSEs were approved by the Delhi Cabinet in March and will begin accepting students this year.
Teachers at ten Sarvodaya schools in East Delhi were taken completely by surprise, despite the fact that the SoSE officials had previously discussed the move. Teachers and administrators at Sarvodaya schools educate students from kindergarten through 12th grade, and less than a month ago, they learned that they will be required to teach IB from kindergarten through eighth grade beginning in 2021. They were told last week that they needed to write their "applications for candidacy," or AFCs, by Tuesday (today), but many of them haven't.
The STEM SoSE website states that "a recognised and experienced knowledge partner, with expertise in the training of students for JEE and NEET, will be assisting in curriculum creation and providing academic and non-academic assistance to the operation of STEM-SoSE." It is administered by the National Testing Agency and is used for admission to undergraduate engineering (BTech and BE) programmes. It is also used for admission to medical school and is administered by the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) organisation. An educational tutoring programme for kids was already in place during the administration of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Hope you got the answer to your question. Incase of any queries, feel free to question. Have a great day!
