If you are looking for a B.Tech college in Mumbai that offers Data Science with low fees and a strong, industry-relevant syllabus, there are several good options to consider. One of the most affordable and reputed choices is the University of Mumbai's Department of Computer Engineering at the Kalina campus, which offers specializations in areas like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science through affiliated colleges. The fees are very low, generally between INR 20,000 to INR 40,000 per year, and the curriculum covers essential subjects like Python, machine learning, big data, and statistics. Another excellent public institution is the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), which may offer data science as an elective or under IT, with annual fees around INR 85,000 to INR 1,00,000. For slightly higher fees but better infrastructure and placement support, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) and K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology (KJSIT) are strong contenders, offering modern B.Tech programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with fees around INR 1.5 to INR 2.2 lakhs per year. These colleges provide a comprehensive syllabus including programming (Python, R), mathematics (statistics, linear algebra), machine learning, cloud computing, and practical projects. Shivajirao S. Jondhale College of Engineering is another affordable option with a focused Data Science curriculum and fees under INR 1 lakh. Admission to these colleges is mostly through MHT CET or JEE Main. To make the best decision, you should compare course syllabi, check for scholarships if you belong to EWS or reserved categories, and prioritize colleges with good placement records in the data science field.

Hello student,
While SC candidates have a separate cutoff, the ranks for Veterinary College, Bidar are still competitive.
With a KCET rank of 103,886 and being an SC category candidate, securing a seat in Veterinary Science at Veterinary College, Bidar, might be challenging, but not impossible, especially with the benefit of reservation.
While your 70 percent in PCMB is a good base, the cutoff ranks for Veterinary seats in Karnataka can vary significantly each year and are influenced by several factors.
Keep a close watch on the official KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) website for updates on counseling dates, seat matrix, and cutoff trends.
Ensure you participate in all rounds of counseling, including the second and extended rounds.
Consider applying to other government or private veterinary colleges in Karnataka, or even other states also.
Thank you!!
Hi Eaganathan, With the rank of 47655, getting into computer science and engineering will be difficult for you in tier 1/2 colleges. For Tier 1 colleges like RV College of Engineering, BMSCE, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, DSCE, etc., the closing rank falls under 3000 for OBC candidates. Even in the Tier 2 colleges , the rank falls under 10,000 for OBC candidates. Consider low-tier colleges like Acharya Institute of Technology, Presidency University, SIT, and BNMIT to get admission in CSE . If you go for other branches like ECE, Civil, IT, or Mechanical in mid-tier colleges or low-tier colleges , there is still a chance for you to secure a seat. Use the Careers360 college predictor to get an exact idea about the college that you can get based on the basis of your COMED K rank : https://engineering.careers360.com/comedk-college-predictor?ici=cp-listing_engineering&icn=COMEDK-College-Predictor For more information about COMED K, click on the link below: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/comedk-uget-seat-matrix All the best. For the 2025 admissions cycle at KJ Somaiya College of Science, applicants from outside the Somaiya junior college system are generally expected to have achieved at least a 50% aggregate in their Class 12 Science examinations. This threshold serves as the minimum eligibility for application. That said, actual admission decisions are merit-based, so higher scores will naturally enhance your chances of selection.
In contrast, students who have completed their studies at Somaiya Junior College (in-house candidates) typically do not face a fixed percentage cutoff. The institution often gives preference to these students during the admission process.
There is no entrance examination for this college; admission relies solely on Class 12 board marks.
Applicants from reserved categories, or those applying to specialized programs such as B.Sc. Computer Science, Biotechnology, or IT, should be aware that cutoff percentages can vary depending on the specific course and category.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is advisable to consult the official Somaiya College website or refer to the merit lists released during the admission process.
If you require assistance with the counseling process, application forms, or course selection, support is available to guide you.
Hi,
For pursuing any CS related course usually Mathematics is compulsory to be awarded with class 12th passing grade. If you are a PCMB student it is well and good as you can choose any stream. But if you have purely PCB you have to pursue career in only Bio related courses or Physics or Chemistry. You can take a dropout and appear for 12th with PCM but it is very hard in some cases to study for whole long year.
But,
According to new education policy, You can pursue BSc in CS even if you are a PCB student. It depends on the college you’re applying for, every college has its different eligibility criteria.
My friend is also a 10+2 PCB passed out student and wished to pursue education in the same field, so finally got to know about BSc IT(information Technology) where having maths in 10+2 was not compulsory and now he is graduated from it.
I hope this helps.
