Im giving my 11th exams and about to come in 12th. Im preparing for NEET from Allen kota. Now i want to ask, whether I can appear for MCAT after 12th. What is this exam ? Like will this exam give me MBBS degree or MD ? Or do I have to also complete some basic UG before appearing for MCAT?

anirudha vats 27th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well MCAT is given by students who wish to pursue MD from American medical school and to even think of doing a MD, a student need to have completed his or her bachelor's degree along with pre medicine track. So you need to first complete your bachelors with pre medicine track in US and then take the MCAT test to get admission in MD course.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

What are the disadvantages of studying in Manipal School of Life Sciences, Manipal for B.Sc Biotechnology?

anirudha vats 27th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well it might not be a proper disadvantage but still the fee structure must be a bit expensive there as compared to government colleges and central universities. But apart from that, the opportunities are enormous there. The lab facilities, library facilities and other things are all great and very productive. Also the faculty is really amazing in what they teach.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

i have done my BSC in 2017. After BSC i got admission in bhms so now my bhms is running. is finished in 2022, Can i Do MBA from now on the basis of bsc .???

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd Feb, 2021
Hi

Yes, you can do MBA on the basis of your BSc education as though you are doing your BHMS but your BSc degree is still valid and so you can do MBA . And don't worry you can do your BHMS and MBA both at the same time.

This is because,
UGC has given its approval that one can go for pursuing two courses at the same time, the only condition is that one cannot pursue both these courses in regular mode i.e for both the courses to be legal, one course can be in regular mode and other course in distance mode from Open University or online.

One can choose two different colleges for pursuing the two different degrees, that is one in regular mode and the other in open/ distance mode or one can pursue the two courses from the same institution or college provided it offers both regular and distance education.

So , as you are already doing BHMS in regular mode you can definitely pursue MBA as well on the basis of your BSc but you will have to pursue your MBA in a distance mode . Some of the top colleges or universities for your MBA distance education is provided below:-

-) narsee monjee institute of management studies , global Access School for Continuing Education
-) Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning
-) Institute of Management Technology, Centre for Distance Learning
-) IGNOU

I hope that you find this helpful

Thank you

Pankhuri Kumari 12th Mar, 2021
Hii!
If you meant to ask that did getting government jobs you need to study in government colleges or not, then the answer is no. You don't need to study in government college to get government job. You can apply for government jobs before or after graduation as per the mentioned eligibility criteria. The college you study from doesn't matter as far as it is a recognised one.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

I have completed my Class 12th Board Exams (J&K State Board) in Decembr and the results should be out by March. I am a PCB student with Information Practices as additional subject. I am looking forward to study abroad (mostly Canada or U.S) What are my options in subjects and what to prepare for?

chandresh iyer 30th Jul, 2024

With your background in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Information Practices, you have a wide range of options for studying abroad in Canada or the U.S. In the medical and life sciences fields, you can pursue degrees in Medicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or Environmental Science. If you're inclined towards technology, you might consider Computer Science, Information Technology, or Bioinformatics, leveraging your additional subject knowledge. To prepare, you should focus on achieving high scores in your board exams and standardized tests like the SAT or ACT, and if applicable, the TOEFL or IELTS for English proficiency. Additionally, research the specific admission requirements of your target universities, gather recommendation letters, and work on a compelling personal statement.
